This is a really nice campgrounds. Staff keeps it clean and are very nice. Great beach access for fishing or crabbing. Did have a good time. I would come back if the weather was better. The constant fog and drizzle was the only downfall for me. Cell service for T-Mobile was terrible but it was great for Verizon.

We had an amazing time. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We had a great site with a view of the bay. We were able to watch everyone fishing and crabbing and we even had some Kite Surfers to keep us entertained. This is a no frills campground but it is was a great escape from the craziness of life.

Since it was a Monday night as well as thick, cold fog for June 1 there were plenty of spots open. We had a seawall site. If the weather was nice I guess the views would be pleasant. The area for the seawall is just a big stone parking lot, so nothing special about the site itself. I am glad it was sparsely filled because I would not want to be there when they are busy. With it just being an open parking lot, you can hear every noise from the other campers.

We came out here on a whim - wanting to get away from the smokey skys at home. I have spent tons of time at Dillion beach, but never ventured down the road to Lawson's Landing. Our experience with staff was fine. The girl at the front gate was helpful with directions and other questions. The road leading in was full of pot holes and in need of some basic maintenance. As we drove in, we were treated to NUMEROUS political flags and even one with a fist giving the middle finger. What does that even mean?? That set the tone for me - we camp to get away from the day to day craziness and I felt offended that we had to wake up to this everyday.
With our truck camper, we were probably the smallest RV in the park ( other than the tent campers). The generators ran ALL day. The sounds of the birds were nice and watching the fishing boats go out was a positive also. We will not be back.

The sites close to the beach have very good cell signals, while sites between dunes have spotty coverage.

Lawson's Landing is one of those California coastal gems that people overlook because of it's distance from the main road. Lawson's Landing is a beautiful piece of land where you can choose to camp up in the hills, behind sand dunes, or overlooking the bay (right outside your window!). It offers great swimming, exciting crabbing, and much needed unwinding from life. We came to Lawson's Landing as a layover to our 4th of July weekend at the Redwoods. We came to enjoy this place so much that we have already added it to our "return again" list. So heres the run down of everything that this place gets right, and what they get wrong.
Lawson's Creek is considered a dry camp. Our site, which was on the sea wall, and many of the other sites we saw had a fresh water spigot in-between sites. This is convenient so you can fill up right at your site. We had sunny days and our solar set up was perfect. Verizon signal was 2 LTE bars, boosted to 4 bars. The campground is clean. The crabbing and fishing is great. There is a small shop at the end that sells snacks, fishing gear and bait, and souvenirs. Sites are nicely spaced. Road is very bumpy and full of potholes/large rocks. Just take it slow as you drive in. Biking becomes a bit more difficult, but possible because of the road condition. Swimming is fun for the kids. The beach is kid friendly and, permitting weather, is pretty safe for kids to play in. Do not come here depending on using the table they provide. Our table was full of seagull poop. Bring your own table or get ready to clean off their table.
As a reminder, pump gas before heading into this area if you are low on fuel. There are no gas stations nearby. You have to drive about 30-40 minutes back into town to get gas. Also, coming into Dillon Beach while towing can be tricky because of the windy country roads. Take it slow coming in and you should be fine.

Short walk to the beach to watch a beautiful sunset. It was nice to be at the beach but park on grass an not get a bunch of sand in the trailer. Lots of family gatherings. Driving through the town to get to this resort was a bit of a challenge so best not to attempt during busy times.

We stayed here three nights, we have an autistic daughter so cell phone service is pretty important for us with respect to Internet. The service was extremely poor from our cell phone provider Sprint.
The campground was relatively clean there was nothing within walking distance. The spaces were nice and a large and they did have an easy access dumpsite and water available throughout the campground. Everything is a hike though whether it’s going to the beach or their store.
If you’re not a fisherman there’s very little here for you to do. The beach where kids can play is between a half a mile and a mile walk from your campsite depending on where you’re camping.
