Stayed here end of Mar 2024.
Pull-through FHU 50 amp. Dirt pad. Site #6
General:
1) Peaceful place.
2) Un-level bumpy dirt sites.
3) Entrance dirt road also a bit bumpy
Campground WiFi: Did not try at this park.
Cell/hotspot using booster: AT&T (3 of 4 bars—4G).
Cell/hotspot using booster: Verizon (2 of 4 bars—4G).
Details:
Check-in: Posted on office door after hours. Someone was in our assigned site so called the emergency campground number and they gave us a new site assignment.
Sites: Dirt pad. Bumpy and hilly so had to make some adjustments to try and level properly. Patio space was kind of small with a metal bench swing. Wood runners section off the neighbor site's hookups so it closes in the living space a bit by design.
Campground Road: Again, dirt bumpy road in and around the campground.
Grounds: Clean.
Bathrooms/Showers: Did not use.
Laundry: Did not use.
Location: Gas 3 min from entrance. Restaurants are about 15 min away.
Near highway: Yes. Immediately off the interstate.
Near train: Yes.

We left Colorado Springs headed to Arizona and did not know how far we could make it. After feeling too tired to continue driving, we were able to pull off the interstate in Las Vegas and find a spot at the Las Vegas KOA. It started snowing unexpectedly, so it was convenient to pull into the KOA and find a handful of sheets with detailed info on the sites.
We pulled into site 11 as it appeared large enough to pull through without unhooking the truck, and despite it being on a hill, we were able to get level enough without unhooking.
It was quiet that night and the office staff was very friendly the next morning. At least based on our one night, this was a nice KOA to stay at and we will definitively consider it again in the future while passing through.

Has more of a campground (versus rv park) feel than most KOAs we've stayed at around the country. Arriving between their open office hours, we picked up our reservation paper and easily found our spot in the pinon pines. The lay-out includes a row of pull-throughs in front, the rest of sites being dispersed throughout the trees. Fortunately the spaces are clearly marked or you'd never figure it out! The trees are also pruned back to avoid issues with bigger rigs.
Our site was mostly level, FHU 30 amp and our satellite connected easily. Their WiFi didn't work for us, but our ATT MiFi worked fine. All utilities were easy to access and hook-up although we didn't use sewer.
Pool not open yet and we didn't use the shower/restrooms. Playground seemed in good shape with kids playing there looked to be having a good and safe time.
Very dark and quiet at night - wonderful night's sleep!
The park is south of the little town of Las Vegas. Easy on and off Hwy 25. Entrance and interior roads are rough - don't need speed bumps for sure!

The wi-fi that is advertised for this campground does not exist. They have no routers to boost the signal and they suggest at registration that you use your cell phone to connect to the Internet! Their arrival parking is confusing with only a stop sign and no further instructions, plus a grouchy receptionist when I guessed incorrectly as to where to park. The man who led me to my parking place did not wear a mask while leaning into the window of my truck near me.

Park is okay but the sites are gravel and dirt so when it rained it was a little messy. I would never bring my dog here again there are cactus that are hard to see at night and my dog stepped on one, very painful

Interstate on one side, railroad tracks on the other and bumpy gravel road to the park entrance! What more could one ask for?!?
Park could use some TLC.
One night is enough.
Didn’t use facilities.

It was really tasty. Despite being right off the highway it is quiet. They are clearly working on improving the sites. Fresh gravel. Looked very clean. We were welcomed warmly and felt appreciated. We would stay here again.

Easy access off the interstate. We had a 41 foot 5th wheel. Make sure you study your map getting in and out as it can be tight. The paved road coming in is rough. They really care for this park and do a great job keeping it nice even in the dead of winter.

It looks like they've done some work/improvements since I was here last. This park is a mix of what I'd say are well maintained sites, and activity/amenity areas that could use a bit more TLC.
This is my second year of RVing, and as previously stated, my second stay here. On this trip I've noticed RV parks don't like it very much when you show up an hour or two early (prior to checkout). I'd say, it's STRONGLY discouraged. I understand if they can't accommodate me early, and am happy to wait, and always make that clear. I didn't really notice it being an "issue" last year. This trip, I've had a few comments made.
The lady at the office of this park seemed particularly miffed at me for being early. Even after I apologized and said it was on me, and I was happy to wait, she preceded lecture me, and splain to me all they have to do to go through check out, and get ready for the next visitor. Turn's out, all the while, my site, the one I reserved prepaid in advance was empty, and available to be occupied. But I'm not sure that is material to the real or imagined "issue" at hand).
On a somewhat related note. I've not experienced any angst when I pull out a couple hours before checkout time to get an early start. Just say'n....🤨
Anyway, once the nice lady learned my site was in fact ready to be occupied in spite of me being a couple hours early, she politely showed me to my location. All's well that ends well...
