This was a gem of a campground. There is vegetation between many of the campsites so it feels more private. Some sites have more grass than others. Driveways are gravel. The bathrooms were pretty clean (we didn’t use the showers). Many of the sites don’t have electricity and you can’t use a generator (if you have a medical condition you need a permit & can only use between 11am & 1 pm). If you don’t need electricity, many of the sites by lake were really nice. There are a lot of hiking trails, a beach (though the bathrooms by beach were closed when we were there & no place to wash off your feet). There is a small dog beach to the right of regular beach (when facing the lake) which our dogs loved. The staff was nice. My only suggestion would be to have 2 dump stations & a separate place to get potable water. We just needed water when we arrived but had to wait in line for a long time behind the other campers who were dumping. We stayed 4 nights in May 2024 (**we were charged more per night because we aren’t WI residents😝), plus need a WI State Park sticker. Cell coverage (Verizon) was decent.

I would definitely stay here again! Nice campsites for tents, site 35 was a little rocky under the ground so it was somewhat difficult to get the stakes in but we did get them. We've camped here twice now and really enjoy it here. The majority of sites are very private and spacious. Camper pads seem to be quite level also. Public bathrooms are a little dated and there is no camp host on site. There is a walking trail that follows Lake Wissota and is a beautiful walk.
