Turn right after boat ramp then keep on main rd to left. I found a little rd to right. Followed until I found an oil rig. Parked. Google Earth will help you figure out the maze.

I was the only one there. Dumpster on site, but did not see any restrooms. Good view with the lake right there.
Verizon poor.
AT&T good.

Got a flat spot up high overlooking the lake so a nice view. No services and nothing to do other than relax or fish. If you have a boat you could go on the lake. There is some trash around so we’ll and try to pick that up in our spot.
Considering it’s free and quiet I’d recommend for an overnight while traveling.

Quiet, easy in and out for quick overnighter. Nothing fancy, got the job done.

I showed up with expectations to clean, as one review has mentioned. I was not prepared for every site to have broken glass everywhere. I tried 3 sites and ended up leaving. The road to the right was washed out and flooded so I went to the left of the fork and tried some of the first few sites in that road.

Okay place to stay. When we got to the lake and came to a fork, we drove around to the right and pulled off a road on the left, near a couple of oil pumps. We camped off a little loop that goes to a lookout on the lake. Sadly, the trashiest site where we've stayed. It must be a popular place for locals to hang out and party. Other than the trash, it's a nice spot - it overlooks the lake and there's trees for shade. Room for a small RV or trailer, but that the part of the road is quite rough. I did pick up four 13 gallon bags worth of bottles, cans, and assorted trash, so it's pretty clean now! That's about all we had room for so I couldn't get to all the stuff under the bushes. Very quiet. One of the oil pumps does come on sporadically. Saw a roadrunner and heard some wild pigs rustling in nearby bushes (keep the dogs tied up!). Overall, except for the excessive trash, not a bad spot for a short stay. It was quiet - we only had two vehicles drive by.

Stayed here one night while traveling from Texas to CA. Would stay again. No noise and better than a highway rest stop.
