Overview of Lake Louise Hard-Sided Trailer Campground
A camping permit and park pass, valid for the length of stay, are required. Please display your camping permit in a visible location. Campers must register (at kioskor self-registration) with their camping unit prior to setting up camp.
A fire permit is required for each night you have a fire.
ALL soft-sided units (tents, tent-trailers, and units with soft-sided pop-outs) MUST camp in the Lake Louise soft-sided campground and stay within an enclosed electric fence, due to seasonal bear activity.

I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #139, an E only (50A), PT site for $45 including the reservation fee, but not including the National Park pass. I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in site #139, an E only (50A), PT site for $45 including the reservation fee, but not including the National Park pass. The roads are asphalt and the sites are gravel. It was pretty easy navigating. All sites were PT and plenty long for most RV’s. The sites were shared, back to back sites so you have to hope your neighbor is quiet. Most sites are fairly level, but this one needed 2 boards to get me leveled up. The site got some afternoon sun. Since these are shared sites, if you don’t want your door to face your neighbor, it means the electric pole is on the wrong side. The area between the buddy sites where your picnic table is was quite shaded and pretty spacious. There was a main bathhouse and several smaller bathrooms scattered through the park. All had flush toilets. All the facilities were older, but clean. I didn’t use the showers but I noticed that they didn’t have a bench to set things on although there were hooks inside. Connectivity inside the campground: 1-2 bars LTE with Verizon International plan, 0 mbsp download speed in the evenings. Calls were dropped and email was difficult to load and impossible to open. If you go into town, the signal was fine: 2-3 bars 5G. The campground is right along the river and there is a wildlife corridor across the river, but we didn’t see any. Views from the trail along the river were outstanding. The only big negative was the proximity to the train tracks. It is loud and will wake you up if you are in that first row near the tracks. I would try to get a spot as close to the river as possible. We bought an Adventure Pass package. It included 5 things: Golden Skybridge (lots of fun adult activities), Jasper Lake Maligne boat tour, Icefield Parkway glacier walk and Skywalk visit (saw mountain goats there), Banff gondola ride, and Lake Minnewanka boat tour. All five were great! And the package was a really good deal when you added up what it would cost to do all of those individually. You also need to book shuttle tickets ahead of time to go up to Moraine Lake (highly recommended.) There is so much to do around there. Great hiking, lots of bicycle paths, the gondola up the mountain…I could go on and on. A glorious place to visit. I will definitely be back.

This is a great convenient spot to camp to see Lake Louise. The site was a double shared side to side with another rv but your doors were facing opposite so it wasn't a problem. The site was very level and neat. There were nice flush toilets near and very nice hot showers just a short way near the entrance. Some had complained of the loud trains but we were on the far side of the campground and did not even hear them.

Access to the amazing mountains, trails and lakes is phenomenal. Sites have electric and several dumping lanes with potable water. Yup - there’s a train close by didn’t bother us at all. We have Verizon cell phones (2 bars), T-Mobile hotspot (1 bar) and Starlink (100mb/s download speed). Fires in this region meant there was a lot of smoke and poor air quality.

Stayed 3 nights here in my 24ft class C RV. Loved the mountain views and proximity to the path along the beautiful river. Everyone mentioned the train - it's honestly not that bad, and I consider myself pretty sensitive to sounds. It only came a few times and night, otherwise mostly during the day. Everyone mentioned the train - it's honestly not that bad, and I consider myself pretty sensitive to sounds. It only came a few times and night, otherwise mostly during the day. Any horn sounds are from far away. And I was in site 7 which is one of the closest sites to the train!
Pictures of camp site from booking seem fairly accurate for determining mountain views.
Showers are far away, and we're quite dirty when I used them. To be fair - cleaners came right after I showered so may have been bad timing.
Verizon cell phone service was sometimes great, other times frustrating.

Shared camper pad, electric at site, but no firepit. Showers were super tiny with no place to set your clothes. Small broken shower shelf too, but had good hot water.
No deep sleep as the trains come by often and have to whistle at the road crossing.

The train is brutal. It runs through the campground all day and all night. Otherwise, it would be a decent campground.
The sites are not private, bathrooms are cleaned infrequently, and the sites are not level, but the location is as good as you will in Lake Louise.

Spacious campsite. Electric on site, water and dump available but not on site. Showers available ,free and hot. But is not cleaned on a regular basis. In shower large clot of hair remained for 3 days straight. Train noise interrupts your day daily, try to tune it out.
