We stayed in the area with electric and water and it was a peaceful, enjoyable night. The park is beautiful! Great place to ride bikes, play golf, jog and walk. Such a great surprise for someone not really familiar with Oklahoma. Verizon not great. Enough to text only. Other than that, zero complaints.

What made this city park the best one for us,
1. First come first serve
2. the lake was 250 from our spot
3. 20.00 a night for water and electricity. 25.00 if you wanted sewer.
4. Large green area for the dogs to play and easy access to swim
5. A large pelican flock landed on the lake every morning at about 7:30
6. A mile from 1-40
7. 3/4 of a mile from Walmart and other retail stores
8. Clean showers
Some of the water and electric sites are smaller and not level. The sites that are electric, water, and sewer are longer and level, and most are pull-through.

I came in after dark, in a 50-60mph windstorm. There are no maps of grounds posted, so I just grabbed the closest one with 30-amp and water. I called their number listed on Campendium and they sent out someone to collect my fee. They also alerted me to the coming freezing temps, so no water hookup til it warmed up. It is only $20 for 30-amp and water (no sewer). It's $25 for all services. Lighting coming in was minimal, but I prefer it that way, it's easier to sleep. When I got up in the morning, I was surprised to see how truly nice this campground is. Not fancy, but leans toward natural setting. Unfortunately, when I got here in the windstorm it was 60*. When I woke up, the cold front that caused the wind came through and it was 25*. It was quiet, dim lighting, so I slept well. The park is very well kept. Hope we all treat the park with respect and consideration, as this park is literally right beside a new home development on one side. It appears the this park was an outlier, but the city is starting to encroach. Trash and bad behavior could cause the loss of this hidden gem!! I will stay here again. T-mobile was 5g, but a fairly slow service. The staff was friendly and helpful! Getting to the park from the I-40 is a winding affair through residential roads, but google navigation got me there accurately. Enjoy it while you can!!!

We got to the campground after dark (7pm) and had a bit of a hard time figuring out where to park. I’d called ahead and the woman was super friendly, told me to pay by dropbox and pick any site if we came in after 4pm, which we did. I didn’t have the right change so paid $30 instead of $25 but a man stopped by in the morning with a $5 bill, which was awesome.
Bathrooms were clean and showers were warm, but locked from 7pm-7am, which was a little sad since we’d been looking forward to showers that night.
Not too many people camping there in Feb, which was really nice. Power, water and sewer hookup was $25. Highway noise steady all night but not obnoxious. Pretty setting by a lake -saw two great blue herons when out walking the dogs in the morning.
Kind of hard to find the campground -Apple Maps took us into a residential area. Should’ve kept driving along the road until we saw the rock sign that says Lake El Reno Camping West. Would’ve been easier to navigate in the daylight but we figured it out in the end.

Mostly level site. I had trouble finding the phone number. But I got it by calling the city. This is a city park and they set the rules like they lock the bathrooms at 7pm. But we use our own toilet so no big deal. The checkout time is 5pm.
Full hookups are $25.00, water and electric is $20.00.

We have stayed in the OKC area in the past at a much more costly campground and decided to give this park a chance. Because of the time of the year, early November, the staff assured us we would have no trouble getting a site at this first come first serve campground. She gave us instructions on where to come for FHU sites and told us in advance that it was cash or check. We arrived early in the afternoon and were able to get a site for the weekend. When we checked in, we were informed about the laundry facility. We were able to get our laundry done at a very reasonable price of $2.50 a load washed and dried in front load Maytag commercial washer and dryers. The office had quarters for purchase. Although we didn’t use the shower house, it appeared to be in good shape and clean. The park was conveniently located near I40 and you certainly could hear the traffic, but it was no unpleasant, just white background noise. For the price of $25 a night, this park was a good value and the sites were spacious. It was a pleasant place to walk the dog. The only thing that would prevent me from returning here again would be the need to be assured of a place to stay. Our last time through OKC was Memorial Day weekend and I am not sure I could risk a holiday weekend to a first come, first served.

Online it says first come first serve; there are signs to get you to the office on the west side of the campground. We pulled around the loop to the office and were greeted by Becky, the very helpful and friendly host! She brought us out an envelope asked us how long we were staying (1 night during the week) and told us to drive around and pick a spot. We decided to stay at the full hookup site closest to the lake. There are cones put out because the local Oklahoma folks can reserve for the upcoming weekend but they will always try to do their best to fit in the folks just travelling through even if it's on the other end where there is just water and electric. The park is beautiful and kept very clean and the grass mowed wonderfully. The camp hosts are always out and about checking on the bathrooms, trash and any guest needs. Great places for walking our cat (or dogs) along a nice grassy open space. There are paved walking/bike paths around the park as well. We absolutely wished we could have stayed longer and wanted to try out Sid's diner for the famous onion burger and coney dogs. Even though we couldn't see the highway there was some hum of traffic from it but that is the only nitpicky thing I could say about this place. I hope our travels make it this way again so we can come back to visit!

They are gravel and you may have to adjust to get level but no problem at all for us and not something I’m too picky about. We were able to get level no problem. The lady managing it was super sweet and actually came and greeted us as we got set up around 6pm when we pulled in. It’s only $25 a night (cash or check). They have clean restrooms and showers and clean laundry facilities with very nice machines. The park has a playground across the lake and fishing at the lake. Only 30 minute drive into Oklahoma City. We stayed here only two nights but we would definitely come back!

She even offered to give me quarters if I didn’t have any. The park was huge. We did some fishing. There’s a big playground across the lake for this with kids. It was peaceful and quiet. We loved it and would have stayed even longer if our schedule allowed. Would go back if we get back up to the area! Great park!

We cannot say enough great things about this RV park. It is been under new management for the past 4 years. I would highly encourage everyone to stop in. The spots are what numbered. Great utilities very long twin spots. I believe they're all 75 feet long. They have full hookup side and a water and electric only side. Great showers. The laundry room is very nice. It's like doing laundry at your own home. There's cards and chess and checkers to occupy your time while your laundry is washing. There is a trash can at the end of every spot for easy trash removal. We cannot say enough good things about the staff. She was extremely friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable about the area. This is the closest to being at home that we have ever felt in a park. The view of the lake and the ducks was an extra added bonus. We came for a night and wound up staying two they should be getting Wi-Fi in the next year. That was all that was missing!
