Lake is VERY low, so don’t come here looking for a great waterside experience.
Town has a couple of grocery stores. The one I shopped at was really complete but seemed pricey on most items (and I’m from California…) Lots of fuel choices too…
Pretty decent place to overnight fairly close to I-20, or to kill a couple of days “on the cheap”

We stayed in this campground for one night, maybe because it is winter, not many people here. We chose the site with water only, it cost $15/night, the site with electricity would be $22/night, and they have heated restrooms and hot water shower, that is great! 2-3bar of T-Mobile signal.

A different/rugged kind of landscape. Really peaceful. Also somewhat windy - not sure if this is seasonal or not.
Starlink worked fine. T-Mobile, Verizon, Visible and Cricket were light on signal strength. Both Verizon and T-Mobile are 5G and download was ok but upload sucked

Here two nights. Nice hike around part of the lake.
In the entire park there are 4 sites taken. So lots of privacy. No town nearby. Lots of abandoned stores in Colorado City. Bring what you need.

Stayed one night here as a stopover on a much longer trip. Friendly park employee at the kiosk. Site was mostly level with a decent view of the lake. Hook ups were fine but only used the 30 amp. The bath house on my loop was closed for repair, so I had to walk a few hundred yards to an adjacent loop for a shower. Not super pleased but it happens. The bath house on that loop was serviceable but nothing to write home about. Did a nice walking trail that hugged the lake and then took the pavement back to my loop. Campground was quiet and sites in my loop were decently spaced. The lake is not really much to look at. There's an electric facility on the east side, with wires running through towers along the shoreline. Not a great view TBH, and a local told me they never bring the lake back up since the plant is closed, so it looks like winter pool all year round. Not much in the area, but not too far off the freeway to be problematic. Would stay here again as a stopover only, not as a destination.

There is plenty of space between sites, no electricity, but there is running water. The site was a short walk to the restroom. The restroom was a little worse for wear but still usable. There was some trash in the shower drain, but I removed it without issue. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and worth the money for a quick overnight just passing through.

Arrived after hours but late check in was easy as we made a reservation over the phone earlier. Stayed at a pull-thru site. Site was level, clean and had 30 Amp hookup with water. Sunset and view of the lake was awesome!

We stopped for a quick overnight on our way towards a family wedding after visiting Zion and Mesa NP’s. #38 is a nice pull through site with water and electric, but we did have to unhitch to get level.
