My family and I enjoyed the park. The trails are beautiful and well maintained. The trees are gorgeous. The campsite was clean and I loved the view of the lake. There was no park host, so it felt a little unsafe at night. People stayed at the lake and partied until late, even though they weren't camping there. We paid for wood, but it was never delivered.
When we first arrived we asked several questions but the young lady at the booth didn't seem to know any of the answers. They need to train their customer service folks a little better. I feel like we were overcharged for our stay. I tried to get her to explain the fees but she got confused and couldn't tell us why we were charged for 8 daily $5 fees when children are supposed to be free. I wanted to speak to the manager but I was told she was hiking the trail. I went back later and she was gone for the rest of the weekend.
The water in the lake was hot so it wasn't refreshing. I think the best time to go here is in the spring or fall when the temperature is cooler.
We had a pleasant time. The customer service was lacking. Other than that it was fine.

Our site was fairly level and right across the road from Hero Water Park. We had a nice view of the lake and enjoyed the quietness and birds. The parks was free from trash, grass mowed and generally overall well maintained.
Our site had a good canopy of trees so it really never got too terribly hot. I would definitely RV here again.
Our cell coverage was fair at 2-3 bars but it was enough for us to stream movies. :)
