We stayed here in February 2022 for about a week and again in January and March 2023. It’s super convenient for everything on the west side of Charleston and Charleston itself. We stayed here in February 2022 for about a week and again in January and March 2023. It’s super convenient for everything on the west side of Charleston and Charleston itself. It’s quiet and peaceful and easy to access. We have a 45 foot diesel pusher with a tow car and have never had any issues getting in or out.
There’s a nice mix of permanent, long-term renters and short term and nightly campers.
The bathhouse/laundry building is nice and centrally located.
The new sites look like they’ll be very nice but they have never been open when we were there yet. Hopefully they are now.
One of the best things about staying here is they accept Passport America so we saved a lot of money in our three stays here. They are also the ones who told us about Passport America in the first place, so we signed up when we arrived.

Overall Rating
We love this RV park. Cynthia is a wonderful manager, who is very friendly and very professional. Our site was clean and spacious. We slept comfortably, and we loved the peaceful walk around the lake. This location is not far from downtown Charleston. We plan to be back soon!

We were crammed into a site when there were 4 empty sites right behind us. Bathrooms were only ok. Pretty quiet. Close to Charleston.

Park was clean, neat lake with fish, turtles and ducks, generous spacing, very friendly. Close to our (now) favorite southern town, Charleston. Very picturesque. Showers could need some upgrades, but were clean. Park map to island seems to be a little confusing, since they added new concrete spots near entrance/office. WIFI reception was very good, and we got about 50FTA channels with our winegard antenna.
Would recommend this place for people like us who like to be out in nature, rather than in a rv to rv tight concrete campground.
Yes, the place gets soaked when it pours, but I would respectfully disagree with previous poor ratings therefore. The back in spaces at the lake are spacious, have water and 30 amps, and are 50%off with PA, &6$SFee&tax. You can’t beat that. Would love to stay here again

Showers were tiny, low water pressure, inadequate hot water, clumsy rack for shampoo/soap.
Location for us was great; 30 minutes into Charleston on Hwy. 17 and convenient to east side attractions. Any store or auto dealer you need is found along 17, so this is a good stop for errands. Front office compiled detailed list of attractions, services, and restaurants—well done!

We loved our little water/electric site that backed up to a pond with turtles and ducks! Site includes a picnic table and fire pit, also. Staff was great. We loved our little water/electric site that backed up to a pond with turtles and ducks! Site includes a picnic table and fire pit, also. Staff was great. The saltwater pool was on the smaller side but super nice with lots of seating! Laundry room was ok with 4 washers/dryers and coin machine. Around the other pond you can find hammocks, community grilling area, picnic tables, pavilion, and a really nice wooded walking trail. The new paved-pull through sites are nearly complete and look awesome. We did use our Passport America ($138 for 4 nights with tax for a 30amp back-in water/electric only site) for the discount, but the normal prices were the best we found in the Charleston area. We didn’t use the WiFi but had decent Verizon and T-mobile signal. When we pass through Charleston, we’ll definitely go out of our way to stay here! Within a few miles from Publix, WalMart and many restaurants. Please note there is a train that goes by but it wasn’t close enough to be too much of a bother.

This is a very nice campground that they are currently expanding. The new paved sites will definitely be an upgrade. Our friends complained about the train noise but we actually like hearing them. This is a very nice campground that they are currently expanding. The new paved sites will definitely be an upgrade. Our friends complained about the train noise but we actually like hearing them. All decorated for the holidays - very pretty. Nice, fairly good size pull-through sites. We would definitely stay again. Close to Charleston and about an hour from Beaufort. Lots to do in the area - you'd have to work a being bored.

Didnt have the site with sewer even though we reserved months in advance. Online photos are far to generous for the condition of this place. This is the 8th park we’ve stayed at on this journey. This is by far the worst.

We enjoyed our location near the pond. We had a Neigbor on the left and on the right side, but they were distanced well apart. We chose a spot 30AMP w/o sewer and did just fine. For internet we use Starlink and it was above 100mbps.

Do to this campground having an issue with poor drainage driveway we called two days prior to arrival but they said all was good. Do to this campground having an issue with poor drainage driveway we called two days prior to arrival but they said all was good. The driveway was not flooded when we got there but the potholes did show that they do have issues. Upon setting up on our site we could see they were expanding the campground..right behind our site. The first night there our "neighbor" said someone broke the laundry change machine off the wall the night before we arrived and of course we were right next to it. Security is weak at this campground.
For most of the eleven days we stayed here two excavators, dump trucks and trailers worked within 50 feet of our camper. It have been real nice to have told in advanced, but that didn't happen. I swear they only ever go backwards based upon the continuous backup alarms. The dust was unbelievable from the equipment and their dirt roads. It seems as though much of the campground is full time residents with stuff everywhere on their sites. The only blessing of this construction equipment was it drowned out the truck jake brakes at the stop light, the train whistles at the road and the landing jets a a nearby airport. In case you're wondering we did get a Good Sam discount but nothing more for the construction front row seat.
The bathrooms were outdated but clean and the laundry was $3.50 to wash and $.25/8 minutes to dry. Water pressure at site outlet was 62 lbs.
