PROS
Perfect location to explore Tahquameno Falls area.
Overall park nicely maintained/mowed.
Gravel roads throughout in fair condition.
Toilet/shower facility very clean.
2 washers and 2 dryers for camper use.
Escorted to site by campground personnel.
Moveable metal and wood picnic table.
Metal fire ring (no cooking grate).
Firewood for sale.
Shade throughout campground.
CONS
No senior, veteran or club discounts.
$3 transaction fee charged.
We arrived Tuesday 1230p and was refused check-in until 1p, in fact we were told we could not wait 30 minutes on the property, we had to vacate. To exit the campground, we had to drive by our reserved campsite, that was unoccupied.
Majority of campsites are buddy sites where camper doors open up to your neighbor's camper door, so your outdoor activities, to include your picnic table and campfire that is in your site is in full display of your neighbor and the same for them.
Sites very tight/close.
Low water pressure and the campground wasnt filled to capacity.
Limited check-in parking area.
Pull-thru site 4 unlevel no matter how we parked.
Dogs on leash rule ignored by most campers.
Road noise from M-123.
No campground WIFI.
T-Mobile 1 bar.
Tips...
Stock up on groceries before arriving as they are very pricey here. There are 3 different dollar stores in Newberry.
Tahquamenon Falls just down the road.
Crisp Point Lighthouse. The 18 mile sandy road is horrible, but worth t!
Timber Charlie Restaurant in Newberry for walleye.
The INN Restaurant in Paradise

Camp sites are arranged radially in two concentric circles with bathhouse volleyball court and trash in the center. Sites are shaded with level grass.
Sites with cable need a box loaned from the office.

This campground has a pleasing design, nice size lots, and clean bathhouse and laundry. Things are well maintained, impressively. There are some nice trails in the back that lead into the woods. The owners are pleasant and energetic, and politely maintain a welcoming, calm atmosphere. There are a range of hook ups for water and power, with most of those having sewer hook up also. There are also some rustic sites. In August, site 2 has pin-cherries dropping, but shade is wonderful.

We really enjoyed our stay. The owners are very nice and helpful. The grounds are almost manicured. While we were there they were replacing sections of grass with sod and planting many flowers. Our site was perfectly level and had big natural area behind it. Bathrooms were very clean and well kept.

Great quiet place with really large sites. If you have young kids they have a nice playground ! My 7 year old didn’t want to leave.
The full hook up sites 36-41 are the nicest imo

Wifi available and if you're in the front half of the park its pretty fast too. Cheap firewood. And no outside firewood is allowed in. They have ice and a few basic camping items available. If you need more Newberry is a 5 minute drive and theres an Ace Hardware, Napa, etc. No pool, but lots of kids activities. Its a short drive from Tahquamenon Falls, Paradise and Whitefish Point, Munising, Grand Marais, and the bear ranch. Kind of centrally located in the UP so Sault Ste Marie, Big Spring, Marquette, all within 2 hours. Yes, there's lots of bugs. That's the UP. Its like that everywhere. Owners do spray the park for mosquito control. A couple citronella candles kept them at bay around our fire. We hang a bug zapper anyway. We have been coming back here for years. Owners are about the coolest people you could ask for. Great place! Very clean. Reasonable site rates. I wish more were like this.

We got a discount via GOOD SAMS to the $36 night FHU as that was the only spot available.
You can visit the WHITEFISH POINT lighthouse area from here, which is a nice drive. Also went to Tahquamenon Falls to get in a great view of a famous natural waterfalls. Also if brave you can drive to CRISP POINT (15 miles out a dirt road to a lighthouse - can be driven with a two wheel drive truck, or four wheel anything, but the road is tough and hard to navigate). Did and got the sticker, LOL.
