Loved it. Super remote. Lots of RVs in other areas but was pretty empty at this site

The road had some rough spots but was better than I expected. I lost T-Mobile service when I got a few miles down the road.

Mix of A’s, B’s, C’s, trailers & fifth wheels. Nice & quiet with pretty great surroundings. Only downside on my visit is cloud cover & some raindrops!

Beautiful views, clear night skies, wide open area for plenty of campers to have the privacy of their own space. Park Rangers and Border Patrol drive through regularly which I love.

It’s beautiful here, and there’s lots of space, but, at least until you reach the Kofa sign (2 miles in), it’s somewhat crowded headed into the new year. And the internet, both Verizon and TMobile, is frustratingly on/off start/stop both day and night. But, yeah, it’s otherwise pretty picture perfect.

AT&T cell reception was great. If you have a directional antenna the cell tower is about 2 miles to your southwest. Great speeds and was able to stream Paramount+ without any issues.

I parked my motor home north/south to take full advantage of solar heat. Nice spots available a half mile in, I didn’t hear any road noise. Beautiful area, lots of space. I took my dogs for a long walk and they walked thru a patch of cactus needles that stuck in there feet. Easily pulled them out. Lesson learned.

We loved exploring the Horse Tanks trail and the drive up to Crystal Hill where harvesting rocks and minerals is allowed. My kids gathered a bunch of quartz pieces and are convinced it’s going to make them rich ;-)
Our dog spotted a small rodent running once the sun went down, but otherwise didn’t have any issues with critters while here. A great spot to pull off for a stay over or base camp for the NWR.

This is a really beautiful and secluded area. Loved all the stars and the sunset and sunrise. The dirt road is in really great shape, at least the few miles in that I drove, and there were abundant places to pull over and find a campsite. None of the areas seemed overly sandy and I could get around easily in 2wd.

Verizon connectivity is POOR here.. If you need good strong internet, you better camp right by the road. A mile in, your hotspot may show 4 bars, but bandwith is abysmal.
