Their website says you are required to have a one day permit, but doesn't explain how to get one. Does anyone know?

15$ camping with electricity is very rare to come by these days, let alone on a lake setting. This is for sure a local secret!
Payment is by envelope at entrance of park

Planned to stop for 3 nights at this former Army Corps of Engineers campground but we left after two. Almost empty the first night, about half full the second. Boat launch was very nicely laid out past the dump station. Sites were more dirt than gravel and there was a lot of trash around. Pit toilets need cleaning and maintenance. No host. Rain made entire place unpleasant. The non-electric sites had a lot more shade and Great Lake views. Electric sites don’t have much shade. Probably best enjoyed in cooler weather.

Great place to camp with excellent rates! Quit and peaceful with great views! In my personal opinion I think if they were to build a bathing house and toilets they would make alot more money! But still hunting season is here and I'm definitely gonna be camping there close to my hunting spot!!

Facility is nice...thanks Indiana parks! Plenty of power. Plenty of length for parking. Plenty of trash left from previous tenant to include human waste...not cool. Fire pit overflowing with paper trash. Dumpsters literally 50 yards away. Your fellow travelers are always the worst reason to stay.

We paid $15 for electric. They had some really nice spots on the water that were no electricity for $12. We had site 47 which was a nice spot. Felt very safe. Park ranger and sheriff drove through. All fcfs. Cash or check. Close to shopping. Dump station by boat ramp.

There is a gun range across the lake. But not a problem for us. Someone was shooting at the range, but I didn’t notice until I stepped out of the camper. Dump station is down by boat ramp. It is a drive to it. There are some flushies down there. Walmart is on the far side of town from the campground. It took about 15 minutes to get there. To many restaurants to sample in a couple days. Might come back next week and sample more. Country Post was great food and service. T-Mobile 2 bar 5G was intermittent.

A variety of sites to serve anyone. While it is, in part, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, it doesn't accept any passes. Still open during winter and the WuFlu panic. Sites near the entrance can fit full-sized rigs. As one gets toward the back primitive loops, things tighten up quite a bit. Plenty of available sites on the bluff that overlook the river/lake. My site required minimal leveling. Other sites aren't so flat. This area seems to get regular drive-through sightseers: There were a handful of drive-throughs during my 1-night stay. No trails that I could find within the reserve but the roads are quite walkable. Dump station at the north shore boat launch. Plenty of birdwatching, including bald eagles along the river. Mostly quiet but the low drone of road noise from Hwy 224 is always present.
