“Nice Clean Campground”

Weekends get busy here. But even though it was busy it was still quiet.
Our site was #68 and was level and you could see the river from our site. Water and electric was available at the site but no sewer. But they have a nice dump station.
I would definitely stay here again.

Great rv park! They keep the grounds very clean (literally rake each site after people leave and clean out fire pits) and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The river was peaceful. Great rv park! They keep the grounds very clean (literally rake each site after people leave and clean out fire pits) and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The river was peaceful. River front spots book out very quickly and are quite pricey. We stayed in site 64 and enjoyed it. The creek wasn’t running behind our site like the map shows but the park was pretty empty as it’s March. There is a free dump station in the park and a great fenced in dog area. I would definitely stay here again.
Important to note: you do have to check in by 9pm. Due to getting off work late, we arrived at 8:50 but the security guard was super nice and helped us right to our spot and helped my boyfriend back in since it was so dark. There are quite a few rules enforced at this campground so don’t expect to party here, but for people wanting a peaceful, relaxing stay, this is it!

We stayed here 3 nights in August 23. I love the location, being on the Kern River (water was too rough for swimming this year) and the enforcement of noise rules. We're not big partiers and we appreciate that the campground wants to remain a quiet, family escape.
Two negatives:
1) The bathrooms/showers need an overhaul. They're old and not particularly clean. This resort had some crazy expenses/loss of revenue this year with a full flooding of the resort (and regrading) due to the unprecedented flooding the area received so its a bit understandable but this would be what would stop it from being a 5 star from me.
2) Feels a bit 'nickel and dime-y'. You must wear wristbands at all time. If you lose your wristband $$. Wifi is 'free' on website but that only includes one device (really terrible performance for the free) and you basically have to pay for anything else/serviceable. Showers require quarters but aren't that nice/clean.
Overall I would stay here again, particularly in the loops with full hookups/concrete. Its not that far to the river either way.

We were in need of a spot after a long day of mountain driving and a check engine light in our rig (!!) . First, let me say that the grounds and sites are so clean and the staff was very helpful. The campground is right on the river and full of shade trees with birds singing! Ahh! The bad: The price for the campsite is not accurate ho... more
We were in need of a spot after a long day of mountain driving and a check engine light in our rig (!!) . First, let me say that the grounds and sites are so clean and the staff was very helpful. The campground is right on the river and full of shade trees with birds singing! Ahh!
The bad: The price for the campsite is not accurate however, because it is 5$ a night for each kid, $5 a night for each pet, you have to pay for internet, and they add a 5% charge, which is illegal, to cover the 2.5% cc fee. They also charge for showers, and don’t let you have packages delivered. No laundry. I am glad we landed here, as it was pleasant, but the charges felt shady. Just charge 85 a night, already, for few amenities.

We were on a road trip and just needed a place to sleep overnight , and check out little Kernville.
First off I'd like to say they have a big staff here and everyone we met were very friendly and helpful.
This is a real summer destination campground (like many in this area) and the phones were ringing off the hook with the ladies making reservations while we checked in. They said it was like that all day.
Its still winter time here in late March so all the trees and bushes were still dormant and bare. It was pretty quiet here this time of year but we hear its crazy busy during " camping season".
I do think $60 for electric and water hookups is a sky high fee but to have to put quarters into the machine for a shower is just too much. Also the instant hot water unit was acting up and it kept going from hot to freezing cold on me. Ouch!
We aren't used to Rv parks with so many rules. Must wear a plastic bracelet with your campsite # on it. Dog even had to wear a special bone tag. Do this. Don't do that.
I think this might be a good spot to take the kids camping but that's it.
This area gets blazing hot in the summer and the little creek running thru the campground is a jewel. The Kern River is too swift in this area to swim in.

Sites near the road have full hookups and sites along the river have only water & electric (no sewer). They have a pump-out service every few days at $30/pump. Spots by the river fill up very fast. Sites near the road have full hookups and sites along the river have only water & electric (no sewer). They have a pump-out service every few days at $30/pump. Spots by the river fill up very fast. In November, we booked two weeks in advance and they were all taken for a 7 day booking (mostly because the weekends were already booked).
Other than being by the river this is a normal RV park with sites close together and normal amenities (nothing special).
I would stay here again, but book a site by the river.

The first 2 times was in my Pickup and slide in camper. This time with a teardrop trailer. I love the stream running behind my site. The place is always very clean and some sites are right next to the river. There is a restroom and showers. Most sites have electricity and water. Some also have sewer. There is also a dump station. ATT and Verizon have the best signal but I had 2 or 3 bars LTE with wy Sprint.

This was our first time to the Kern River. August 1-6 2020. Loved it. We stayed in site 81 right on the creek that runs through the camp grounds. Best for the kids to play and float down the creek. This was our first time to the Kern River. August 1-6 2020. Loved it. We stayed in site 81 right on the creek that runs through the camp grounds. Best for the kids to play and float down the creek. Best to sit in camp with your feet in the water to cool off. The river was right in front of our site with easy access. We were told the water level was low. We thought it was great and safe. Apparently May to June the water level is high. Great WIFI for streaming good cell service. Electric, water and cable TV. Dump station in camp ground. The clean and rake every site after each guest leaves. Walking distance to Kern River Brewery. Day trip to Trail of 100 Giants in the Sequoias.
Can’t wait to go back and stay here again. I would recommend staying on the creek. Nice and relaxing. Easy access to the main river from anywhere.
