The spots have a little privacy and spaces vary on sizes. YOU WANT TO BOOK EARLY! Everyone wants to be on the beach so book early we made that mistake but still got one of the last spots. Only a few accommodate a 28 Ft or less RVs. Great access to Ruby beach and the Tree of Life! Really loved this spot! Would recommend!

I had a beach-side campsite overlooking the Pacific, but without access down to the beach. The campsites on the non-beach side of the campground are totally different from those on the bluff, even though they're just 50 feet apart from one another. Highway 101 is very close to the landward sites, but they're pretty nice nonetheless, with a ton of old growth trees all around. Some of the sites were very small -- the most trouble I've ever had getting my little trailer into my assigned spot -- but we made it.

We were incredibly lucky to get an ocean front site. The views are amazing. There are no hookups or showers at this campground and there is an additional dump station fee. Sites are tiny and very close together. Tent next to us was literally about 5 feet from our camper. This site should have contained our camper & vehicle easily, but was too small and very tight. It was this way at many sites and difficult to keep vehicle off gravel. This is an NPS miscalculation at this campground - try to book a site that is a little larger than your camper and it will be much more comfortable. Even with the tight quarters, waking up to the unbeatable view made up for it.
**Little to no service at campsite, but could pick up LTE signal down on the beach

Nestled between the highway and the ocean, this park is five stars for location, but three stars for the disparity in sites and limited bathroom facilities. But you can’t beat the price($11 with a senior lifetime pass or$22 without). Not all sites are created equal. There are six loops(A-F) and if you can score one with an ocean view in Loops A, D, E, or F), you are lucky(refer to the photo below to see which are the best sites). I reserved three months in advance(this is one of I believe two Olympic National Park campgrounds that are reservable) but the closest I could get was to hear the ocean, but two sites away from a view. That’s ok because I love falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. I also did not realize when reserving that our site(A9) was a handicapped site. The ranger assured us this was not a problem. It was an awkward site in that the picnic table was located very close to the parking space(and could not be moved). Additionally, I think it would be difficult for a handicapped person to navigate getting out of a vehicle to the site, given the concrete parking barriers. Some of the sites are very dark, some not quite level, and some in the A loop are right next to the highway and guaranteed to hear road noise. Supposedly many of the sites do not accommodate large RVs but I saw many (Our site, A9 would NOT accommodate a large RV). I cannot speak about the other bathrooms but in the A loop, there were only two stalls and one sink. No soap dispenser and only cold water. However, I only saw someone else in the bathroom once during our two- night stay. No showers or hookups but that is typical for national park campgrounds. There is a dump station for an additional charge. The best part about this park is the location: easy access to miles of gorgeous walkable beach. Nearly non-existent cell service (Verizon); every once in a while, we’d get a burst of service, but it would not last.

Unfortunately, the site was way too small for our rig AND the only signal we could get anywhere in the campground (even with a booster) was not good enough for work (3G only), so the ranger send us 3 miles down the road to South Beach Campground (also part of the National Park). That campground was not as nice (think big open field by the ocean), but the view was great! Kalaloch is definitely nicer and has more of a campground feel (treed, beautiful sites), but the ocea view and price of South Beach ($15/night) cannot be beat!

Would have loved to be able to get a waterfront site, but inside sites are still nice. Sites are spaced nicely and can be full shade, or mostly sun depending on beach front or interior. Some reviews had commented on noise from the road, but in our July visit, we noticed the sounds of the ocean much more than the road. The price is a bit high for a site with no hookups, but the location is pretty great on the beach, as well as for access to the park. The campground didn't seem to have many options for bigger rigs, I'd imagine it would be tough finding a spot for 30+ft

We pulled in to Kalaloch on a Saturday afternoon in April (when the park is first come, first served.) We were able to find a lovely site, but of course the ocean view spots were taken. If we could have, we would have snagged one when they were vacated the next day. Our plan is to check for an ocean view reservation periodically throughout the summer before we go back.
That said, the sites are forested and lovely. The main negative of the park is how close each site is to the next. Every site is only steps away from the beach, where leashed dogs are welcome. There are some short nature trails that are beautiful and easy for little ones to walk, but dogs are not welcome on the trails.
We had no cell signal with AT & T, even with a booster, but our solar panels were well charged despite the clouds and tree coverage. The dump station was clean and easy to use, and the traffic to and from the Olympic Peninsula was lite (at least it was in April.)
Overall, not a perfect national park, but a lovely one.
