Very nice campsites, many set back from the road. Showers were hot and bathrooms were clean. I camped in both the Tropical loop and Sand loop. Sand loop did get alot of highway noise. Boardwalk is not open due to hurricane destruction but the Cross Florida Trail crosses the campground if you want to hike.

Site 6 in this loop appears to be the best site for solar. Site 41 in the other loop. No hookups at this park but there is a dump station and potable water. The bundles of wood were large and $10.50. They burn good. The showers has good pressure but only warm water. You also had to keep pressing the button or the shower would shut off.
Most of the trails were shut down for repairs while we were there. But this is a beautiful park! The spring area is amazing!

We had a great time here - rolled in a little late so was concerned about parking, but the pull through spot was easy to get into (in the dark) and we woke up to a tropical paradise outside our RV! So cool! The springs were easy to walk to from our site - a small pathway led right to the bathhouse if showers were necessary and the natural spring swimming pool was very neat - lots of weeds and fungus growing there, though which skeeved us out a bit. Bring kayaks if you want to do the 4 hour river kayak that's onsite - looked SO cool, but we didn't have the time to do that....will definitely do that if we ever get back here again. Only issue we found with bugs were TICKS - LOTS of ticks...teeny tiny ones that seemed to come from nowhere. Overall a great experience and highly recommend.

We stayed here in our 28 foot airstream and had no issues leveling or backing into site.
Pretty shaded campground overall so solar is a bit tricky. We used our generator a couple hours a day to charge everything up and went about business.
The shower house was clean and serviceable. Swimming in the natural springs was amazing!
We also recommend taking a day trip down to Silver Springs State Park for an amazing kayak or paddle board adventure.
Overall a nice, quiet, affordable place to stay in Florida.

We had a lovely two nights here. Without hookups, but who cares. Fun springs, no bugs to speak of, clean bath and showers. The only ding would be no quiet hours or more specifically generator hours in effect or easily found. So, with no plugins, some annoying noise. Not killer, reasonable, but still there.

We were supposed to stay 4 nights but we decided to ditch about 4p on our last night do to the amount of ticks we were dealing with. Our dog had 5 or 6 on her. We found them crawling on us and in our RV. We said enough was enough and left early to St. Augustine. Such a disappointment because it seemed like a dope place! I’m not sure if it was all the rainy weather we’ve been getting or what. No other reviews mentioned anything about the number of ticks. We traveled all across the US and never experienced ticks like this before.
It’s dry camping, dump station and fresh water on site. My fiancé says the bathhouse was decent. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any type of refund when we explained the situation but safety is more a priority! Anyways wish it was a better time! Stay safe out there y’all!

Beautiful campground! Paved, mostly flat sites. Clean, and well cared for facility. Trails lead to the Mill/Pond, great for pictures! Even though it was barely 60F people were swimming!
Bathhouses clean, and very fictional! Lovely experience!

Check in was easy and the ranger nice and helpful. Our site was a pull in and through and it was tight. We couldn't quite manage getting the RV in or out without driving a bit on the grass. The site was quite private and really nice. We felt like we were in the wilderness while we sat around our campfire. There were a few short walks through the park and one nice long hike just at the entrance to the park. If we had our own canoes we could have gone down the stream, but there is still no canoe service since COVID. The mill was closed, but running and there were several paths and some buildings that had "do not enter" signs. It felt like it needed some TLC and staffing to get things going again. It is far away from everything, so bring what you need with you.

We stayed here five nights in the Tropical Loop in early April. The paved pull through sites provide a large yard and privacy. So did some of the back in sites. There about a quarter of the sites that had no screening but were fairly separated from the next site. Most sites in this loop don’t have a lot of sun for solar. Our site was okay. Since the weather was cool we didn’t have to listen to generators And most people didn’t stay as long as we did. The road noice was not that noticeable in this loop and went away at night.
The dump charge is for Non-campers. They do not charge for dumping if you camp there.
We did our homework about putting in to paddle the river to a point. We checked in with the ranger station , so we knew we had to pay first. Since the shuttle was not operating we worked out with our friends the order we needed to do things.
If you plan to paddle the river I suggest you be experienced with paddling. Read various sources from Trip Advisor to Paddling in Florida. An easier paddle is Silver Springs during the week.
The day use facilities were not open I thought due to Covid. The boardwalk and other area that need to be repaired is due in the past to the lack of funding to the national forest service. Hopefully that will change with funding coming.
If you are looking for hook ups then try Salt Springs National Forest Campground nearby, but is very open and sites are closer together.
If you like Mexican and unique Odd Todd’s in Salt Spring was a hit with us.

We love kayaking Juniper Creek and loved exploring this park and the CCC displays in the past. Our low rate was due to being Florida seniors (50% discount). Unfortunately, the park is under new ownership and they don't seem interested in maintaining the historical part of the spring area and the concession in the day area is completely gone. They did still have the carts available to get your personal boats to the launch. The campground itself is still very nice and we were close to the bathhouse and trails although the trails are limited. The showers are push button so you have to keep hitting the button every 30 seconds. The boardwalk trails have been closed for several years and we saw no signs of upkeep near the pump house. There were more signs saying what not to do and no trespassing that didn't really offer a welcome feeling. We could not pay the $10/kayak launch fee when we arrived and were instructed that it had to be paid the same day. Our plan was to drop off the fee as we returned to the campground after our run. We were approached by an employee in a golf cart at the launch and told we could not launch until we paid. We did not have our truck so it would have been quite a walk back to he ranger station so we offered to give her the cash right then. She would not accept and finally called the guard house to let them know we were paying later. No good morning, have a nice paddle, enjoy your day. A friend was possibly visiting to paddle with us and would have to pay the day fee and launch fee so the park is getting quite costly for what they offer. There is a posting at the entrance with a long list of fees including $10 dump fee even if you are camping. We did not use the dump station as it seemed ridiculous to pay an extra $30 by the time we paid 2 launch fees and dump fee for an $8 campsite. If you just need a quick campsite, it is very pretty but Silver Springs state park is just down the road and much more pleasant. AT&T was barely there. No phone or wifi but at times a text could come through but you couldn't reply. We probably will cross this park off our list.
