Fortunately scouted without trailer. Way too difficult terrain with anything bigger than 21 ft. Amazing views though. Only 1 site. Maybe 2

We were looking for free camping near the town of Bisbee. The reviews for this spot kind of scared me but my husband is a brave soul. The road is windy and steep (6500 ft elevation) switchbacks are part of the road. But there are spots wide enough to get to the side of someone goes to pass. We tow with a jeep commander 5.7 L Hemi and pull an 21.3 apex nano About 25 ft long hitch to tail. We had no trouble making it to the top or back down. You just have to take your time. It was a quite spot with views overlooking the mountains and the town. If you are a really nervous driver or don’t like heights I would avoid but if those things don’t bother you it’s a lovely spot. There are open spots nearer to the view and edge of mountain but we found a tucked in spot by the road that protected us from some of the wind. We have AT&T and a win guard and we had good coverage to have internet for work or streaming from our phones or laptops.

I’ve been in Bisbee for a week now and this boondocking spot is so great because it’s so close to town and it’s been very quiet: almost no other campers here and only an occasional car driving by (one per hour or less!) I’ve been cooking and meditating and working out in perfect privacy...
The views from up here are great (sunsets!) but it’s true that it seems to always be very very windy!! It has messed with my sleep a bit because the wind is noisy at night. Another consideration is that there’s some satellite towers on top of the hill here: not for those that are sensitive to that kind of thing.
Lastly: the restaurant ‘On The Vedge’ in town has samosas to die for!! I’ve been eating them for breakfast, lunch ánd dinner some days :-)

As other reviewers have said, the gravel road up here is sweaty palms steep and winding. I'm in a Promaster van, front wheel drive, handled the road great, but road has been recently graded, is in perfect condition. Not sure I'd try it if there was any loose gravel at all. It's nice up here, the junipers are pretty & smell good, but I personally prefer campsites that have a little more flat space, I tend to feel a little hemmed in clinging to the side of a mountain. It's also REALLY WINDY today, I imagine this would be the case quite often, since you're literally on one of the highest peaks in the area, so it's impossible to set up anything outside. The noise level from the wind rises to a howl through the overhead power lines occasionally - not pleasant. There's a lot of broken glass on my site, not sure about the others. All that said, the views are truly lovely, and the cellular speeds are blazing, since the cell tower is looming just overhead.

We had our truck in 4wd pulling our trailer and if we slowed down too much, we would slip a little on acceleration coming up this incredibly steep gravel road. Not sure how many sites are actually up here but we pretty much took one of the first larger sites we found (near the power lines). We were unable to get fully level and ended up being a bit slanted towards the downhill. This made us nervous with the heavy rains predicted in the forecast so we only ended up staying for one night.
It was calm weather when we arrived but the wind whipped up overnight and kept waking us up with the gusts and rocking the RV.
The views were quite beautiful and it would have been a nice place to stay for a week if the weather had cooperated (although I wouldn't have been interested in making the drive up and down that road much).
There was some litter and broken glass and a surprising number of people driving past our campsite. All in all I *think* we would consider staying here again but we would try to find a more level campsite.

There are many spots to choose from, especially if you keep going past the Campendium GPS coordinates. Some entrances off the road are narrow with juniper trees lining both sides which would be easy for a van but wider rigs might need to keep driving down the road to look for more options.
If you’ve got a long rig or are towing a trailer and need to turn around there is a large open area near the radio tower at the top of the hill which has plenty of room for a wide U-turn.
The road can get pretty busy during the day even though from Google maps satellite view it looks like there’s almost nothing further down. Might be a secret Bisbee meet up spot or something.
Verizon service was pretty stable and with 2-bars I was able to get 11Mbps download and 5Mbps upload with around 50ms ping. Service was solid all week with no dropouts or slow periods.
If you’re vegetarian or vegan the Poco market in town is a godsend. I believe the entire store is vegan only and their kitchen cooks on Saturdays if you’re craving some good vegan food.
