I stayed overnight at Julesberg Rest Area in our camper last fall. Are overnight stays now banned? Thanks!

Beautiful Welcome Center and home of the Pony Express. Special pull through for RV’s separate from the trucks. Dump station but hidden by the trucks. Att service. Allowed to stay overnight but required to get a permit from inside the visitor’s center. Good overnight stop to lay your head.

It’s the other visitors who are the problem. Between the cars parking in the clearly obvious RV and trailer spaces or the schmuck who backed up to our coach and ran his generator ALL night. So… hit or miss.

Bathrooms very clean and open all night. Minimal highway noise. If you just need a place to stop and rest, this is the place. Paved trails for a short walk and to stretch your legs. Awesome sunset after a rain.

The Colorado Welcome Center and Rest Area is located north of I-76 and on the left side of US 385. It is a big complex, thoughtfully designed and nicely landscaped. A large parking lot in front can be used by RV's and Semis. Another parking lot in back offers long pull through lanes for overnight camping. Many picnic tables are sprinkled on the lush grass lawns. Some are covered with teepees. The Welcome Center has clean bathrooms that are open all night. Maps, brochures and information is stacked on tables by the bathrooms. The Welcome Center office was closed the entire time I was there so no free coffee.
I did not see any showers as one reviewer noted. Wifi may be available but Verizon was strong; 5 bars. So I used it to check email and do a little web work.
The Center is shielded from southerly winds by I-76. Windbreaks around the main building still the breezes even more. Walking trails and a dog walking area are in back by the RV camping spots.
I felt safe here and would come back again.
