One of our favorite camp sites for the family. Kids did rock wall climbing at the outdoor center(reservation required), played at the huge playground, fishing in local ponds, and free checkout of horseshoes or cornhole sets. Bathrooms were super clean and sites are very well spaced. Arrival was very easy with paperwork packet outside sorted by last name. Waterpark was closed for the season and dock was closed for construction. Fantastic stay overall.

The beach and a lot of the stores are dog friendly. A lot of people a bit more than I like without masks. The dog park has lots of places for the dogs to play in the water. Our site, was very close to the neighbor, I think their sewer line ran under the corner of our awning.

Fantastic county park! Masks and social distancing required. Lots of amenities- AMAZING dog park with lake access, water park ($12/pp/day), lots of walking trails, outdoor games, etc. Quick drive to Folly Beach and to Charleston. Our site was level and had lots of shade! Will definitely be back!

If you have a tall rig, watch for LOW hanging tree branches driving to the Park from outside roads as well as ongoing construction. Otherwise a very nice campground even though we had to move for the 2 nights we stayed. So much to do for all ages. Close to good restaurants in downtown Charleston and nearby Folly Beach.

The county park has a lot of kid friendly activities which meant there were a lot of kids on bikes and playing or doing walks which may not be good for all. Our site flooded quite badly in the heavy rain which wasn't ideal but electric, water and sewer were not in the water (though i saw 1 or 2 sites that were). We also backed up to a road in the park that seemed to be where the park kept all their vehicles for maintenance and gardening which meant we had traffic all through the day and this started quite early in the morning.
Staff are very friendly, they have a well stocked store for essentials and the location is great to go see local sites.

This site was wonderful. Very easy to back our airstream in. Beautiful, clean park. Plenty of gorgeous acreage for you (& your pets!). The dog beach was adorable. Highly recommend. Close enough to downtown fun without the traffic.

I would definitely stay at this spot again, great access to Folly Beach as well.
Our site was back in with plenty of room and full hook ups. The camp store had some basic RV accessories which I unfortunately needed. :) We had one truck and 17ft camper and one car with a tent at the same site with plenty of room. There are some bugs so bring your bug spray! They have firewood for sale as well as some snacks. There is laundry and clean showers. The walking trails are really nice and we saw lots of turtles and even a snake!

Great park for biking, walking, water park, proximity to tourist attractions. FHU worked fine. Facilities clean.
Sites are dirt with fire ring and wooden table. Pretty close to neighbor, but long enough for our rig and toad.
Beware wet weather. Some sites have a LOT of standing water when it rains.

Hi all. We split our time in Charleston in between Mt Pleasant and James Island. We really prefer this area. The trails here for running and biking are perfect. Good trees decent privacy. Baths and laundry clean and well maintained. Location is perfect for Folly Beach and close enough to downtown. We ❤️ Charleston!

We loved this campground for so many reasons. We stayed here in November, right before their famous holiday light show. Our site was large and private. Some are "shared sites" so be aware that you could be looking at your neighbors campfire. The office is well stocked and the staff are very friendly. We enjoyed the miles of bike trails, our dog loved the dog park that even has a beach and it is very close to town. Only a 10 minute drive and you are in old town Charleston with all of the sites, restaurants, and shops. The light show is famous and we got to experience it for several nights before it officially opened.
