Kind of remote, but we’re self contained so don’t mind.
Cell data sucks. WeBoost increased download for ATT, but upload less that 1 meg. Visible over WeBoost was 1 to 2 meg down, <1 meg up. Starlink works fine ( per neighbor)

The only negative thing I would say is that there is a lock with the combination and the latch that always gets stuck. Very difficult to get in. If they could find an easier way to get into the campsite that would be the only negative thing I have to say about it.

We rode the trails on our bikes which were beautiful, however they recently disced the firebreak lane which made riding difficult in some parts. Vault toilets were pretty clean and you could get potable water from long hose if needed. Dumpster on site, too. This is a beautiful campground! Only drawback is there is a train track nearby and a train roared by at 4:30 AM with its horn blasting.

Very spacious, clean and quiet. Even though it’s free, you have to make a reservation online to receive a permit and get the gate code.

I didn't know what to expect here with the mixed reviews. However, we found it easy-going and relaxing. We only stayed for a weekend, so no issue with the no hook-ups situation. Having a dumpsite would add to the site, but I understand that free camping has limits. Mark, the helpful, gregarious camp host greeted us at the gate and helped with the rather unusual lock system. The grounds have many more sites than I had expected, with perhaps only half of them full. I only walked the trails a bit and checked out the canal, but they both looked full of wildlife. The trail connects to Hickory Hammock, a site where we stayed before, though I didn't venture the 4-mile one way journey myself. Overall, way more plusses than minuses.

A train passes through this area several times a day so that is very noisy. It also sometimes passes through at night. The air boats on the canal are very noisy. They also pass through sometimes at night. There was a very bad element of people there. Upon arrival the compost immediately inform me of which RV Contain a registered sex offender and to make sure to steer clear of that one. After staying for a day or two a family hung a confederate flag. They were all sorts of families at this campground from all ethnicities. It’s Thanksgiving, and I really just felt that it was incredibly rude to make another families children feel uncomfortable on a holiday or any day. I’m not sure why such a racist symbol was allowed to be flown. However, I immediately brought it up with the camp host and left. Also, the camp host is VERY ANNOYING. He stops by 4-6 times a day and operates his tractor and heavy machinery early in the morning. So in conclusion Rapists and racists!? No thanks! This site did not feel safe. No service for att. Lots of tall trees, not great for solar.
