We enjoyed our stay, had a corner interior site. The spots on the lake side are very nice, but even with me reserving 6 months out to the day, I couldn't nab one. We still had a view of the lake (#77), so that was great. Only complaint is that this site's fire ring is in a weird spot. The location is fine for a day trip towards Munising, Pictured Rocks, etc as it's about an hour drive. Fort Wilkins is about a half hour southwest. Manistique has shopping, gas, etc. Very nice area!!

Big sites yes but nothing between them, just big open space. Others must have been in the few level spots. Plenty of locals hang out here.

Beautiful, quiet, level site right on Indian Lake. Loved it, wish we were staying longer! Friendly helpful staff. Bathroom/shower needs an update though.

Wish we were staying longer! Beautiful, quiet state park in the UP. Perfect, spacious, level and quiet. Loved being right on the lake. Only drawback was the dated bathroom/shower. Otherwise, friendly staff and terrific stay,

I never give five stars to a site without FHUs, and a solid parking pad. This place doesn't have either of those, but even with just 50 amp electric hookup, I have to rate it so high. We could have parked two of our 35' Class As and two of our Jeeps and still had room to be comfortagle outside! This is one of several water front sites with amazing views over Indian Lake to the west - so yes, lovely sunsets too.
If you don't already have a Michigan Rec pass you're going to buy one here - for both vehicles (so not for a trailer or 5er but for a motorhome and toad) I never mind supporting public parks so we just got two annuals for our three day stay.
You can unhook your toad at the registration booth or at the dump station. I think all sites are back-in, although they allow you to park anyway you want as long as you fit (not a problem!). The whole park is grass, picnic table and fire ring at each site. Our satellite connected easily. Several concrete ADA sites - very nice. Interior roads a bit narrow but easily navigated, slow down so they don't find the need to add those dang speed bumps! Utility box is at the back of this site, but it was easily reachable when we backed in.
Lots of families having enjoying the summer weather with bikes and dogs everywhere. Still quiet and dark at night.
Our ATT WiFi worked fine for email and such. Don't miss the Big Spring about 10 miles up the road.

We stayed for 1 night on our way to the Apostle Islands. The state park and campground were nice. Electricity, no sewer or water but they have a dump station. Sites were grassy with a view of the lake. We would gladly come back and stay several nights and explore more of the area.

This is a really nice Michigan State Park. Although it isn’t located on Lake Michigan, it isn’t very far, and Indian Lake is a beautiful lake in its own right; clean, sandy, and plenty of swim space. Our site had a lake view through some trees, and the breeze off the lake was pleasant. Generous sites, some in the middle section are in the direct sunlight, which can be a bit unbearable on hot days. But no matter what site you’re on, you are quite literally steps from the lake. Most sites have 15/20 amp service, some have 50 amp, and some are tent sites only. Three bathroom buildings, one has three showers, the other two have one shower each in each gender bathroom. Two dump station lanes. Nice beach, two rustic cabins available for rent also. 5 minutes from Manistique, 10 minutes from Kitch-iti-kipi spring. We’ll be back!

We have stayed at this park in the past and decided to come back again with family for our annually camping trip because we really like it! There are a variety of site types to satisfy all. This time, since we had a large 42 ft 5th wheel, we choose a grassy site back up against the woods in the loop. THere are sites that are on the lake and are very desirable, but many do not have trees for shade. Sites are electric only and there are water spigots throughout the park to take on water. Our last trip we saw the northern lights and shooting stars. It is a peaceful place near Manistique and able to visit Munising and Pictured Rocks with this campground as your base. During the week days we heard road noise from the dump trucks on the road out behind us but peaceful at night.
