“Nice Campground If It Never Rained”

Don’t waste your time here if it’s raining or been raining. Muddy everything. Sure there’s lots of rv’s and some are a bit junky but this place does have some nice views of the river. Would recommend adding gravel along the roads and sites to make it less muddy.

NEW OWNERS AS OF APRIL 2022! We stayed here in October of 2022 for 1 night as we headed S from Maine. I reserved our FHU site online and stupidly reserved for that day, not the next day that we needed. I called the office after 5 and luckily Michael picked up the phone. He corrected our reservation and was very nice! Easy to find with good signage on the roads leading to the CG. Plus there was a Wal-Mart not far away and we needed some fresh food.
No one was in the office so we just went to our spot. Yes, there are a lot of seasonal RVs here - some beautiful with lovely deck / front yard areas & some junky & the front areas full of crap. But those were easily avoided as this place is huge! Lots of options for sites. There had recently been a lot of rain, so yes there was standing water in the potholes and the FHU sites very close to each other. The new owners took over the day before the camping season opened, so they are working on cleaning it up. Lots of large dumpsters (nice when you have a dog), didn’t use the facilities, easy walking around the CG. There is a small river and canal next to the CG. We were here mid-week, so it was super quiet with most of the seasonal people gone. All in all, a good overnighter.

Wow … um .. lots of junky RVs and other stuff at the entrance. Lots and lots of potholes (some huge) at the entrance and interior roads. They were fun especially after it rained. Appears that they have added some new gravel in spots but they have a ways to go. The office is dark and dank but on the plus side the owners/hosts are nice and friendly. I see beauty in the many mature trees and green grassy areas but the park needs some serious attention. All sites (except for two that look fairly new) need gravel as they are now basically grass. The sites we saw all appear to be fairly level. The pull thru sites are way, way too close together. If we had an RV on our driver side we couldn’t extend the awning. We had guests on both sides at times, and we could literally have reached out and shaken hands. Our fire pit was right by the front door so we couldn’t use it. Some sites nearer to the water have lots of space but they look to be seasonal. Satellite worked fine in our site as we were out in the open. The majority of the sites are covered by trees. Verizon was 4g 2 bars. They had Tengointernet but it did not work. All the utilities worked fine. It is quiet at night. There are trains that pass through too but it wasn’t intrusive. This could be a really nice campground, and hopefully the owners are working on improvements.
