Clean and free RV dump. Potable water.
We went to go look at the info on the rock and a volunteer took us on a tour. Very informative and gorgeous views. The wind was wild though!! Wyoming winds !

Independence Rock Rest Area 7-8-2022 the rest stop is open, has ample parking, a dog walking area, picnic tables and a restroom. The dump station is CLOSED. 7-8-2022 the rest stop is open, has ample parking, a dog walking area, picnic tables and a restroom. The dump station is CLOSED. There is a fresh water spigot right near the dump station if you can maneuver close enough and/or have a long hose.
This stop is the where you access Independence Rock. If you have the time and the ability, climb to the top of the rock to see many names and dates from the 1800’s. The view is spectacular also. Most people hiked to the top from the front side. For a less steep hike, go around the left side to the back side of the rock/mountain and it’ll be less steep (even I could do it). 🙂

Good place to stretch your legs and take care of camper business. Plenty of parking and easy to get around the site. There is an area for the dog to run and clean water spigot to rinse them off afterwards! Potable and non-potable water available.

Free dump and fresh water which enables one to take advantage of nearby BLM camping.
