It was suggested that we park in front of the of the abandoned building to the west. Not much to see if you don’t have a Hopi sponsor. Lots of rules on sovereign land about taking pictures, videos, or audio recordings. You’re not allowed to wander thru villages without a host. We were lucky we have a friend living there to guide us.

We arrived to tent camp on a Sunday. Turns out the entire center is closed down on Sundays and not as nice as advertised online! We tried to sleep but were right on the main road with zero privacy. Felt like sitting ducks on the Res. Ended up packing up and leaving because we did not feel safe.

Our 26’ tt had no problem parking in the dirt area. It was relatively level -just needed one block. Nobody else was parked there. We called the day before and were told nobody except hotel guests are allowed to park in the lot. We decided to take a chance and it worked out perfectly.

The Hopi Cultural Center includes a museum, several gift shops, a motel and restaurant. We tried two native dishes -- Tsili'ongava (Beef & Chili) with Blue Corn Frybread, and Noqkwivi (Lamb Stew) w/regular Frybread. Both were excellent.
Be aware, there are a number of vendors set up on the perimeter of the sandy campground, selling their handmade goods, but they did not seem to be pushy.

Level sites for our 22' Roadtrek. Quiet. Had a nice dinner at the Hotel. Just be prepared for locals selling their crafts.

This is a free dry camping lot with a few tables and grills next to the Hopi Cultural Center. It's handy if you want a hub while doing an art crawl, or if you don't want to cross the Navajo reservation in one chunk (The Hopi reservation is in the middle of the Navajo reservation.) The Cultural Center has a small museum, restaurant, motel rooms and shops. There's only a little noise from the highway. Cell service fluctuates.
