Are tents allowed? Is it free?

It’s a SnoPark so there is a small fee during winter months, which you can pay online. It’s free in summer months. I don’t think it’s particularly appropriate for tent camping, because it is just a big parking lot basically

No, tents are NOT allowed as that would be “camping” as opposed to parking. It is only free “off-season” (summer time). Otherwise you need to purchase a Sno-Park permit. Hope that helps.

No tents due to snow plow operations, but you can sleep in vehicle or RV. It is a Sno Park managed by CA State Parks and a permit is required. Web page with link to buy permit or season pass https://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=30701
