This rest area feels more like a campground with it’s beautiful views of the lake. It’s also on the quieter side for a rest area.

At the end of the trek parking is a small field perfect for larger RV. Howard 25 foot plus toe at lots of room. Easy on easy off. Quiet for a restaurant. Either way sounds pretty good I remember going through i

The views of the lake (shrouded by fog in the morning) and snow-capped mountain peaks can't be beat. There are shelters, picnic tables, and plenty of room for dogs to get a good run. Seagulls frequent the area and make quite a racket, but they quieted down after dark.
Posted signs indicate that there is an 8-hour limit for parking, with no camping allowed. However, our rigs and another few RVs, trucks, and cars spent the night and lingered until the frost melted in the morning. We were there more than 8 hours and nobody came knocking on our doors.
