“Free camping in the middle of nowhere ”

It was a nice, and extremely seclude!! We had to drive for miles down a dirt road surrounded by nothing but corn fields. The extreme seclusion had my family and I a little scared! We did have items that made us feel more secure about spending the night there. No one bothered us the whole night or day. My family was skeptical about swimming in the river because it was a murky gray color and we could not see clearly in the water. It is a very great place to fish, kayak or canoe as well. Families were out for Fourth of July weekend using fireworks and no one came to enforce the rules displayed at the entrance. If you are looking for a quiet and extremely secluded place to camp, fish, kayak, or canoe this is the place to go! Just take some protection for your families safety and please clean up after yourselves so we can keep camping for free.

Entry road is 6 miles of washboard HELL!! Drive no more than 15-20 mph or lose your dentures!
Sign says to only camp at numbered spaces. There is only one numbered space for an RV, but it is not really a space, just anyplace off the road. A post & cable barrier prevents driving into the campground where tent camping is allowed. There are 4 picnic tables with fire-pits/grills in the tent area. Beyond that there is a huge sand beach for camping and/or putting a raft into the river.
Fresh Cow Pies! are everywhere and smells like it.This park seems to be a thoroughfare for a small 20 head herd. The gals rush thru like maybe they know they shouldn't be here.
There is a clean porta-potty and several trash cans but no hydrants.I had one bar Verizon and 64% signal strength with AT&T.
Good bird watching on the river. Lots of water fowl and all that goes with it.
