We stayed on skyline loop site 4 for 2 nights. We booked online as it was close to the 4th of July and didn’t want to take a chance. When we got there on 7/1 some sites were still available FCFS Our site was right across from the hosts who were wonderful. It’s about 15 miles to the Russian falls if you want to drive down and hike.... more

Our site was right across from the hosts who were wonderful. It’s about 15 miles to the Russian falls if you want to drive down and hike. You can also get a shower down that way at wildmans for $6
Skyline is reservation only. All sites and park is paved but the road in is not. It’s gravel but passable. Toilets are pit toilet but clean and not smelly. Water available but recommends filtering ( will post pic). At $8 with a national park pass I would stay again and again. We saw sites from tents to unimogs find a place to park
Not much on the lake proper but it’s a short walk to the lake from anywhere

This campground is about 3 miles south of the Sterling Highway (East entrance) so there is no road noise. We saw a bear on the gravel road to the campground. This is a first-come first-serve campground. The campground is paved and the sites are large and widely separated. We chose a site in the Skyview Loop. Very nice and quiet. ... more
This campground is about 3 miles south of the Sterling Highway (East entrance) so there is no road noise. We saw a bear on the gravel road to the campground. This is a first-come first-serve campground. The campground is paved and the sites are large and widely separated. We chose a site in the Skyview Loop. Very nice and quiet. No cell service or TV. There were nice, clean pit toilets and a hand water pump available. There is also a free dump station on the way out.

Overall Rating
Very clean campgrounds, a trail system that takes you up to the ridge for some great photos. There is a boat launch and plenty of parking for overflow. We were camping in our 35' 5th wheel and had no troubles. The sites are paved but not all of them level. We had no cell coverage, nice to be unplugged.
