Overall Rating

We did have to drive the 5km loop around the lake to the spots. The old route appear to be closed. We had only a few others sweep through, so it was beautiful, the skies were clear with a wonderful northern view across the lake. The downside was at 4400 ft elevation, it was cold in September and the traffic never abated.

“Quiet By The Lake ”

Overall Rating

As mentioned, we now need to drive all the way around the lake (5kms), but there are signs to follow.
Nice spots once arrived, very calm and beautiful by the lake.
If you’re looking for nature that’s perfect!!

“The long way around”

2 years ago the dam broke and washed out access to the best sites just across a small creek. You can still use google to get you to the lake and a couple of ok sites. However, If you turn right immediately after the first cattle gate, you can make your way around the far side of the lake and over to the nicer spots. It takes about 20mi... more

Overall Rating

The eve lake forest road is blocked right before the campground off the 5. There might have been a way around but it was late and the gravel roads were rough so we turned around and boondocked on the gravel pit off the highway. Mosquitos were insane!
