This is bear country! Food and bear attractants must not be left unattended at any time (ex: coolers, trash, beverage containers, cooking utensils, health and beauty products, camp stoves, etc.). All food or attractants must be stored in a hard-sided vehicle.

While the benefit of staying here is the location, I don’t feel the price is worth it. The CG is closer to south Yellowstone than the Tetons… which was what we were there for. While the benefit of staying here is the location, I don’t feel the price is worth it. The CG is closer to south Yellowstone than the Tetons… which was what we were there for. We did have FHU in a woodsy, dirt setting. Our site was unlevel and was decent in size. It was quiet at night and a convenient store close by for gas and necessities. We had great cell service. Hopefully on our return trip we can stay more in the actual park.

This campground is expensive (even with our $22.50/night senior pass discount, but it is just outside the south entrance of Yellowstone, and our campsite (627) was level, and the facilities were convenient and clean. This campground is expensive (even with our $22.50/night senior pass discount, but it is just outside the south entrance of Yellowstone, and our campsite (627) was level, and the facilities were convenient and clean. Verizon cell service was better than expected with 300 Mb/s download and 10 Mb/s upload. Only downside was that the Grassy Lake Road is currently closed. Since most of the local hiking trails are accessed via this road, the activity options here are limited. Also, the National Park visitor center here is temporarily closed, so not so easy to get information. Bottom line, we needed 2 nights prior to our Yellowstone reservations, and it worked well for us.

We really enjoyed our (brief) stay here. The sites are nestled among the trees, so it's like camping right in the woods. The roads in and around the sites are dirt so there is a lot of dust to be expected. Some gravel would improve the situation. We really enjoyed our (brief) stay here. The sites are nestled among the trees, so it's like camping right in the woods. The roads in and around the sites are dirt so there is a lot of dust to be expected. Some gravel would improve the situation.
Our site, a pull-thru, was exceptionally narrow because of the trees on all sides. Lots of space between adjacent sites, but the trees were so close in that I wasn't able to pull straight out; instead I had to back out of my pull-thru and then drive straight away.
But the experience was great. The clean mountain air, the cool nights, the firepit in each site: Paradise.
No cell service; no WiFi. There is a rumor of WiFi at the lodge / C-Store, but the times we tried it we didn't have enough WiFi to even check mail or send messages. But we didn't come for the internet; we came for the mountains and we got what we bargained for.

Check in is 2PM and FULLY enforced. It is understandable now that I have been there a few days. it is a busy CG, lots of folks coming and going.
There is zero, none, NADA cell service anywhere near here. Not sure where the one person with the review thinks they received it but it's not at the CG. It is not even within 8 miles till you get a whiff of one bar (but unusable).
Lots of trees and level CG. Somehow someway I was able to get satellite TV hooked up. Convoluted way the sewer connections are. They have to be 10 inches above the ground. They do have a side connection but that is disaster just waiting to happen! I had 50 A service until my last night. Luckily I had a surge protector that protects more than just surges. The voltage spiked to 143 volts and disconnected me. When I went to the office and told the person they replied wondering if that is why the lights flickered overnight. When I left at 11 the power was still not fixed. Lucky I did all my laundry the prior 2 days.
Restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. Roads were dirt/gravel and lots of dust.

Right between Grand Teton and Yellowstone NP's and pull thrus with full hookups. We stayed 5 days over Memorial weekend, the park was full but still quiet. Lots of trees, some space between sites and great staff. Sites are tight to get into, but relatively level with room for our 3 slides, our truck, a couple of chairs and picnic table. We used the time to explore Grand Teton and Jackson. Had a wonderful time! We checked out other RV camping in the area and decided we made the right choice for our stay. The only issue- NO Cell service! But that's ok, spend your time in the parks or take a book and unwind.

I loved how the campsite had beautiful trees and felt more “in nature” than the other RV parks in the area. We had to cut our stay early because of connectivity. 0 service on t-mobile or Verizon. Nearest signal is a 15 - 20 minute drive.
Some difficulty reaching staff before arrival to resolve a 1 night gap in our reservations. It was the first weekend they were open though so I assume that was the issue. Otherwise, the staff was TOP NOTCH! I was very impressed with how friendly and helpful they were.
Showers were very clean but dated.
Be bear aware, we didn’t see any but staff said inevitably they come into camp at some point because people leave out food or other attractants.
I really liked the location. Central to Yellowstone and Tetons. If you are there early-May the road north to Yellowstone will be closed but we arrived on May 15th and it was just opening.

We weren’t planning a stay at Headwaters, but thanks to an early Sept. snow storm we had to stay an extra night in the area to allow roads to the east be cleared. This was the only place we could land a reservation. Didn’t want to chance a FF campground due to the weather.
There is no “wow” factor to the setting of Headwaters. However, you are still in beautiful country and in a great middle spot with amenities between Teton and Yellowstone.
They assign a spot at arrival. We had a nice level pull thru site. We had a nice amount of outdoor area. Everything was a bit sloppy due the the snow fall, but not horrible. The bathhouse was clean, but dated. They did have a camp sink outside for cooking clean up.
The campground was quiet and seemed to attract a more laid back clientele than Colter Bay. Numerous people we talked to had been there for awhile. We saw more dogs there than Colter Bay.
There are hiking trails coming out of Headwaters. I took a hike down to the Snake River.
While not cheap, this is a solid option for the area with hook ups. You have to go to the lodge to get any cell service. The laundry was next to the check in and was fine.

We left early due to a power failure in the park and I was done having no cell service. They didn’t seem concerned about the failure and said it would take at least half a day to repair. Takes 30 minute drive south to get cell service.
The campground has a lot of tall pine trees which after 3 days I realized I like more open, sunny campgrounds. Sewer connection is too high and our site was not level. When we go back to the area, we will stay elsewhere.

Great spot in between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The spots were close, but not too close. The best part for us was having full hookups while being right next to Yellowstone and the Tetons. We enjoyed being in the northern end of the Tetons away from the large crowds near Jackson Hole and Colter Bay. No cell service, but that is to be expected in National Parks. There was a hike down to the Snake River right off the campground, too! We didn’t use it, but there is a laundromat in the campground and there is a small grocery store at the lodge. There were lots of families with kids, so it got a bit noisy at times, but it was very quiet at night.
