“Free! Beautiful Park In The Forest. Fire Pit & Table ”

Group campground had 1 table for the space and 1 fire pit. We had 7 campers and 5 trucks in the space with lots of space in the center. The single sites above the group camping were nice too. No hook ups. Internet is spotty. But a beautiful space!

Amazing campground. And free! It has flat areas in every campground, fire pits and tables. Two toilets in a very good condition. Other campsite had good people and no one was bothering us. Dead quiet place. We will come back for sure. Just walked in the woods around the campsite was amazing.

Checked out this campground since it had 2 bars of Verizon. It was completely unusable even with a booster. Even in town with 4 bars I couldn’t even get a speed check to work. Don’t go here if you need to work remotely.

There’s a nice loop with spots all around, there’s a board at the entrance with notecards you just write your name and stick it in a spot number so people know it’s occupied , no one bothered us, there’s plenty of space between spots so you can’t see the people next to you very well. They also have a group camping area but we did not check that out. It is a while back into the woods, but the road is very well maintained and once you get in further the camp spots are well marked, we found it in the dark easily with navigation.

heavily wooded area, deep in the forest, just 100 miles away from DC. arrived late on Saturday afternoon and the campground was about half full. liked that the temperature is at least 10 degrees lower than DC in the hot summer. too many mosquitoes though.

We were working using iPhone hotspot on ATT service and we’re averaging 30-35 Mbps plenty sufficient for most internet needs. We have a WeBoost WiFi extender that didn’t do much to improve the speeds. (First time using that as well). The road in is about 3 miles of gravel, narrow but do-able. Overall great spot.

Place seemed pretty popular because the weather was not the best but most spots were full. Only stayed here the one night on the way down to flagpole knob but everything was tidy. Spots are decently close together so there is no real privacy.

Our site was pretty level and had a fire pit and picnic table. It was clean and you are hidden in the woods. Absolutely not Verizon service but our AT&T mobile router was working fine.

Very nice secluded campground way off the beaten path. Squirrel Gap Rd from US 48 is not for the faint of heart particularly when towing a 25 foot trailer. Single lane gravel road. No shoulder. Drop offs. Switchbacks.
