We first camped here about a decade ago. It was fall, very windy and quite cold which, in a popup, was the recipe for a miserable weekend. We finally got up the courage to try again with our hardside camper, and now we regret that we hadn't come back sooner. It's now one of our favorite campgrounds. Located on a former quarry, the old quarry is a nice fishing pond, with a bike friendly trail surrounding it. There is a long beachfront, featuring the longest pet friendly stretch of beach I've seen in the state.
Where the campground lacks for shade, it more than makes up in vegetation that surrounds each site giving great privacy. The interstate is about a mile away, and you can only hear it when the wind is blowing out. Cell data reception is very good, making this a workcamper friendly park. As is typical for DNR State Parks, fresh water is available at the sanitary station. Harrington Beach may not be as glamorous as the other state parks along Lake Michigan, but it should not be overlooked.

Harrington Beach State Park was a pleasant stay. We had some slightly noisy neighbors the second night but nothing terrible. They eventually passed out.
Our gravel drive was level enough. We didn't have to do anything special to level. Our 30' TT fit fine but it was tight backing in. The roads are narrow and there's a lot of growth around the entrance of each campsite. It makes them feel more secluded though.
While we had a nonelectric site, there are electric as well ($35/night). Generators are not allowed in Wisconsin State Parks without a medical exemption. A state park pass is also required. It's $35 for an annual nonresident pass. Daily passes are $11 for nonresidents.
We were mainly here for the beach. Its a fine sand beach but the water was chilly even in July (not like Indiana Dunes).
The dump station was spacious and clean. Fresh water was available near it. Trash and recycling are in the same area.
The shower house was clean and private. Each shower was a private room with outside access. No plastic shower curtain that's too small. Just a heavy door with a dead bolt.
Firewood is available at the camp host for $5 a bundle. The wood was actually seasoned enough to burn easily. It's supposed to be available at the park office but the office was closed when we entered the park a little before 4 pm on a Thursday. There was a sign directing visitors to another state park for assistance.
We would definitely stay here again. Overall, it was a quiet and pleasant experience.

This is a nice park with very friendly staff and 50 amp power. No water or sewer but does have a dump station. The sites are gravel but very unlevel. If not for the unlevel sites I could easily give it 5 stars

We will be back! Each campsite is issolated and we felt like we had the whole campground to ourselves. There are two sections, with/without power. Pit toilets were spotless and well place throughout the campground, including the hike-in sites and water is available. Clean showers are centrally located. There are several biking and walking trails, including one leading to Lake Michigan. Nearby Belgium is fading slowly; the hardware store has some great going out of business buys. The Luxembourg-American Museum is really interesting and well done in the oldest remaining brick barn. CV-19 is also impacting Port Washington dining/entertainment venues, but still is fun to walk around. The Emerald Ash Borer has decimated the Ash tree population and significan stands are completely defoliated. Efforts are being made to reforest the area with with Oak, Maple and other species. But don't wait, this is still a great campground.

We loved this state park! One hour north of Milwaukee, the location was between the city and beautiful Door County. Easy access from the highway. Our site had electricity, but no water or sewer. There is fresh water at the dump station so stop there first. Not sure, if I dare mention this...but our site was awesome! Most sites had a lot of privacy, but ours had total privacy with a shade tree and plenty of room for us to park our 38 ft 5th and tow truck perpendicular to the rig. A beautiful and mostly-shaded walk/hike takes you to a nice sandy beach on Lake Michigan which is fabulous and beautiful. There is a fishing pond that was mossy/scummy...but my 10 year old boy found immense pleasure in fishing in it (catch & release) and finding turtles. This is a great campground for the kids to bike around. There was a nice ranger station with a jr. ranger program, but we did not participate. Quarry Lake is also a short walk and is a beautiful place to walk around (you just can't go in it). Also, the mosquitos were not bad for the middle of summer...a little bug spray and essential oils and we remained bite free...a big bonus to this place in my opinion! Lastly, this is one of the cleanest state parks I have seen...their showers were hot and more clean than many of the private campgrounds we've seen (no coins needed for the showers).
