Overall Rating

This is a great spot on a beautiful lake, one of a chain of lakes. The sites are mostly on the lake, though most of those are a bit cramped. Our site was off the lake and very large. All sites have a picnic table and a firepit. The wildlife abounds here and it is great to be serenaded morning and night by the loons. The lake is great for kayaking, there is an interpretive trail on the south side of the lake and miles and miles of ski trails which are great for hiking in the summer. It never filled completely while we are here. The hosts were friendly, the cost is normally $15 (cash only), but if you are over 65 it is half price. No water available, though we did see people using lake water to wash dishes with. Watch out for cows on the road as you drive in and you will hear them calling all day. Cellular coverage is spotty, we use Google Fi which uses T-Mobile towers and we sometimes had a connection.

Highly recommend this Recreation Area.
