Of the 12 sites in the campground, 4 are back-ins that work best for trailers and the remainder are tent sites with pull offs on the side of the campground loop road. You can make it work with a trailer or van but it wouldn't be your first choice.
Route 128 through the canyon has traffic noise throughout the day and night but is far quieter than Route 191 through Moab. When it comes to buffer from the road, Hal Canyon is one of the better options in the canyon, but they are all close to the road.
Due to popularity you likely won't get to choose the campground you want along the Colorado River in this area. All 6 campgrounds on Route 128 were full in October and dozens and dozens of campers would drive through at all hours trying to find a spot.

Stayed in late October. Got a site with room for our screen tent. Good buffer between road and campground. Good vault bathroom. Beautiful views of canyons and Colorado River.
Close to Moab and national parks.

What a view! It is right on the Colorado River with monoliths on both sides.
