“Very Bad Drinking Water”
Reviewed 9/1/2024
The campground was standard for Michigan. Most sites are cramped with little to no privacy between sites and overrun with kids that have zero supervision. Usually if you can get an exterior site you can minimize that. What sets this park apart is that the drinking water was the color of urine and tasted terrible. We tried filling our jugs from several spigots around the campground as well as the fill station and it was all severely discolored. When allowed to settle for a 12 hours red/brown silt gathered at the bottom. We reported it and were told “it’s well water, that’s how it is”. That’s only true if somethings wrong with the well. We won’t be coming back.

Most sites seem level although ours slopes towards the wood and trail to beach (heavy rain would cause a “creek though the site). Nice beach. Second, longer, beach at public use area. Lake is beautiful. Bathrooms are clean. 2 bars for Verizon cell service. Nice trails. Gas station with camp gear, clothes, fishing gear etc and Dollar General near entrance to park.
