Overall Rating
Drove through two signs that said “CLOSED” on the fenced entrance to the RV campground. We intentionally did this just so we could safely turn around and get back onto the highway.
Park appeared full with mostly full-timers.
Would have been more helpful if they put a giant “closed” sign out on the highway so we didn’t bother the occupants and/or waste time. There are about a dozen sharp speed bumps throughout the park. I’m sure the full-timers are sick ‘n tired of us no-reservations-types driving through looking for accommodation.

Overall Rating
First the good. The site was well treed and shady. There was a pathway that is a quarter mile to the bike path and ocean shore. The not so good. There was no one in the office and we almost left. We came across a lady who told us to pick a site and someone would come by to take the fee. No one ever did. There was no wifi.The shower was a cinder block closet which required coins to operate. The restroom was just ok and dated. We packed up to leave the next day but we did not want to not pay. We came across a cleaning lady who helped us track down the manager. The fee seemed pricey for water and electric only. However, the state park charges $35 for no hookups. So maybe not so bad.
The park also had many long term accommodations consisting of permanently mounted travel travelers. We met of a few of the residents and they nice and friendly.

I would like to say that our family camps there every year and find it to be very pleasant. I feel the fees r extremely reasonable. There is no harassing from other campers. Easy access to surrounding areas of fortbragg. Thank you for having a wonderful place for our big family to get together
