There is only two sites that we could find. One was big enough for at least a 30 foot trailer. The other one I would say is Small for a camper van. There was a fire pit on each one. We were lucky enough to have nobody else around. It sure is beautiful and it is free.

All we saw was one site for trailers and it is large. Our rig from bumper to bumper, meaning the bumpr of the truck to the back bumper of the trailer, is 49 feet and we could fit with more room to spare without unhitching (if we chose). All we saw was one site for trailers and it is large. Our rig from bumper to bumper, meaning the bumpr of the truck to the back bumper of the trailer, is 49 feet and we could fit with more room to spare without unhitching (if we chose). We have a bumper tow, don’t know how large motorhomes turn but I believe any size rig could get into that one and only spot.
This site is located across from the pit toilet and down the road a few steps. Easy access to the “pit”, yes behind a fence but they have a non-gated opening. A trashcan is also located there. Though they say the bathroom is infrequently cleaned . . . It was clean with toilet paper, except for a few bugs and spiders.
As a previous reviewer said . . . When you come to the first sign, go left, then the next turn go right. The spot along the river will be on your right, just past the pit toilet on your left.
After that (going in the direction described above), there is a small two track driveway, which at this writing was narrow and overgrown (you will probably scratch your vehicle). It is not a straighter approach either. At the end is an extremely small, but secluded, turn around. I would walk it first before driving in. It also appears that it might become very muddy when it rains. Probably best for tenters or vans. It would be very private. There is room for parking by the boat launch at the end of the loop (maybe for two vans on either side of the single lane road). The boat ramp area is probably best for vans and not trailers. As for other spots along the roads here, everything was very overgrown this time of year and there wasn’t anything else that we noticed.
Alternately at the sign in stead of turning left, you could turn right. There are three sites down that road, but I wouldn’t recommend it to any trailer longer than 20’ and that may be too much. Any vehicle could drive this road, though it is not as improved as the left hand fork. The road to the right ends in a very small turn-around in about .6 miles. We would not have been able to turn around with our rig. When traveling down that road, there is a pull-thru site on the left next to the river; however, on the far end the dead branches are hanging too low to get through without scratching the sides and roof of our truck. In addition, there is a small drop-off from the road which is more substantial at the far end. No problem in a truck, not sure of other vehicles and their clearance. At the end of the road (at the turn-around) there is a pull-thru site on the right of the turn-around. It would be a nice site but again, not sure if we could have gotten our rig turned around even using the pull-thru. The last site is also at the end of the road in the turn-around and it is a back-in and backs up to the river. Not very level, depending on the length of your unit.
We used our Grant Marsh site to see Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument and Pompeys Pillar National Monument.
We saw a Bald Eagle sitting on a tree on the right-hand fork.
Cell service isn’t great here. With a booster we were able to get 2 bars of Verizon, but still nothing for T-mobile.

Lovely place on the river. Site designation is a little confusing and there are no fire rings. The outhouse was behind a fence, so we did not access it. After reading reviews we found that you go to the left at the fork, which is through a gated fenced area. There are places outside of the fenced area along the river to camp as well.

We have a 29 foot fifth wheel and had plenty of room. I’m not sure why the review said you couldn’t get in with a bigger vehicle. There is plenty of room to pull to the side. There are lots of places to back up or turn around in the loops.
For bigger rigs, stay to the right after your initial left. There is a beautiful spot right on the river. If you go down a little farther, You will see what appears to be a two track driveway. Smaller rigs or tents could get in there. This spot is very private. There is room for parking by the boat launch at the end of the loop. There is also room to pull off the side of the road If you take one of the cross sections of the figure eights.
There is light car traffic. If it’s hunting season, you will hear gunfire as this is next to a WMU.
I had zero cell service at the site, but less than half a mile away was 5G.
As always… Clean up after yourself to keep the spots open! We did clean up a small amount of trash at our site. Overall, was a clean area. There is a vault toilet.

This spot was easy to access and the perfect size for our 19.5 ft camper. There are 2 designated sites, and the other one was full. There was a bathroom but we didn’t use it. Peaceful spot. We would stay again.

Might want to get there early so you get a decent spot but it was completely empty when I was there. Clean, beautiful, and private. Had much worse spots I’ve paid much more money for. The spot I had sat right in front of the river. I set up a tent for a quick tear down in the morning but easily could set up the pop-up Coleman as well. Wish I could’ve stayed longer. Might on my return journey. The best free spot I’ve ever stayed in!
