The park is dated but she does a good job of keeping it clean and things fixed if she is told. While it cost a bit more we had water and electric and could have had sewer for a little more $$. The area is expensive so we were glad to find a reasonable place to stay. Her dump station is free. All in all it was a good overnight.

Nice, quiet place but too expensive:
- The sites are close together
- not free shower ( $2)
Laundry:
-Washing mashine $3,50 for 30 minutes ( don't clean the clothes, completely)
-Dryer $2 50 min
The night was good, and we felt safe.

Booked 3 nights here. We have full hook ups (W/E/S).
The challenges:
1. There is no wifi at all
2. Showers are $2 for 8 minutes (you must buy tokens)
3. Un-paved and lots of potholes
4. Watch out for stickers if you have dogs
5. No lockable shower stalls. Just a curtain, and there is no code or lock on the bathroom door.
Upsides!
1. One mile from the GC entrance
2. You do not need your car for food or groceries. They are literally next door. In fact, the town is all walkable.
3. Spaces are not too close and wide enough for slides.
4. Pull through spots for the big RVs
5. Quiet at night.
6. Several shady spots (many pine trees)
7. Staff is friendly
8. No breed restrictions (I suppose this could be good or bad).
9. $60 per night for FHU in a resort town (not a resort park).
10. Campers leave items of value outside. Does not feel like a crime ridden area at all.
11. All types of RVs allowed. No indication of a stupid ten-year or newer rule. Tents allowed but not sure about car camping.
12. Convenient trash disposal around the park including recycling.

We read the bad reviews about this place but didn’t have much of a choice as far as where to stay. If we had to do it again, we would have just boondocked. The only redeeming feature was the campground’s proximity to the park entrance.
Because of the freezing temperatures overnight, the water to each campsite was turned off and only one bath house was open. Both the men’s and women’s bathrooms were disgusting, although the women’s bathroom took the cake: one of the showers had feces in it for about a day before the once-a-day cleaning. You do have the option to fill your tanks upon arrival, and there is a propane tank refill station. Showers are on a token system; tokens are available for purchase from 8am-4pm when the office is open. The showers were too gross for us to even use shower shoes, so we opted to wait several days until our next campground.
The campground is in walking distance to everything in the village, although we didn’t explore much. It’s a quick drive to the south entrance to Grand Canyon National Park, but do plan to arrive to the park early enough in the day so you don’t have to wait in a long line. We saw lines as long as 3/4 of a mile at the entrance.
We ended up leaving our reservation a day early because we were so dissatisfied. This place would be acceptable if you only need to stay a day, but we can’t advise you stay any longer than that. The only exception would be if you’re able to be completely self-sufficient and don’t need to use their facilities.

GC camper village is a basic, no frills camp ground. The sites are close to one another but easy to pull in and out of. Restroom facilities are dated and could use an update. Showers cost extra. Communication between the management and campers is pretty limited. We mostly communicated by phone but they required us to email confirming we were coming the day we arrived. We were not given the choice to prepay our stay, and had to take care of that in the office when we arrived. Verizon cell signal was weak to non existent mostly. No WiFi available. Sewer hookups were odd, and cumbersome (see con).
Pro: Close to the park entrance and conveniently located in Tusayan for meals and other basic services.
Con: There is a wooden barrier installed around the electrical and sewer hookups. No issues for power, but major problems for sewer hose, as the wood barrier prevented a good gravity flow on the hose. This is been the worst hookup situation in all of our travels over the last year. We made it work, but it presented a lot of adversity that really doesn’t need to be there.
Final Thoughts: A great place to stay next to GC, but if it wasn’t so convenient, I would be looking for another park to stay at.
Jimmy would stay here again
