Overall Rating

This is a large campground but the layout ensures it never feels crowded. Sites vary so if arriving without a reservation you may want to find out what’s available and scout them out. Washrooms are older but kept clean and central shower building is quite nice with laundry and a store as well. Large sandy beach, hiking and biking trails in park. Can easily bike to the resort town of Grand Marais which has restaurants and small grocery shops. Main beach area there has many amenities as well. Inner lagoon is a nice area to paddle when the big lake Winnipeg is rough. Mountain biking trails (Rueben’s Ridge) close by. Lots of atv trails in area as well (Northstar and Whistle Pig trails plus many more just north of campground).
