Goose Creek was a wonderful experience. All full hook ups, new camping cabins and very nice bath house. Only weak spot idea a lack of cell service. Nature trails were abundant and beautiful especially along the Pamlico River.
Close to “Little” Washington with all its charm. Will definitely return hopefully soon!

We live about an hour away and decided to do our first "dry run" here with our RV. The last few roads to get to the park are narrow and barely fit our 5th wheel . We had to ride partially into the other lane, only for about 5 to 7 minutes of that. The sites are all well maintained and flat. We did have a small issue with the water pump leaking. We mentioned it to the Ranger on duty and he said they would likely replace it. The folks at the Visitor Center are extremely helpful. Inside is a great place to look around at the animals Goose Creek has to offer. There are a few trails that are walkable from the campground. We have three small children and they loved walking "Long Leaf Trail" over and over again. "Live Oak Trail" takes you along the shore of the Pamlico and is a lovely walk! It's about a five minute drive from the campground. We barely explored what the park has to offer and will definitely be back!! They also have adorable small cabins to rent as well. It seemed like they had mini splits attached to all of them. The bath house was meticulous inside!
I am sure others have mentioned this as well but "Reserve America" limits the length of your RV to 40ft. I called the park and asked about it. They mentioned they've tried to change it over and over again with no success. The park can accommodate LARGE RV's. Ours is 42ft and the gentlemen's next to us was longer. Call ahead and ask if you are questioning your size.

We had a great visit to Goose Creek. Our site was level and it was very quiet at night. We plan to visit again.

We stayed here for 5 nights in late October of 2023. The check in time was late - 4 pm, but we arrived early and just went to our site. It was open and I think our tag was on the pole already. Easy back in as the sites are super long, plenty wide and nicely level. Sites are spread apart enough for us, with a large gravel "patio area", picnic table & fire ring. Bathhouse was new & spotless. The park has some nice trails - I enjoyed the boardwalk trail (but there was one loose board to watch out for), the small loop behind the CG and the Vis Center. I did walk towards the dry camping area one afternoon, but got attacked by mosquitos. The dry camping is much more wooded & treed than the RV sites, but I really liked the feel of the RV area - reminded me of being in a savanna somewhere with the tall trees with branches mainly at the tops. If I remember correctly, a bit of a narrow entrance road from the main highway. Also could hear a lot of dogs barking from either a hunt camp or the nearby neighborhood, which made our Lab a bit nervous.

I stayed here for two weeks in heat of Summer and enjoyed my stay completely. The sites are very large and pretty level considering they are gravel. As mentioned they are full hook up. My water connection(pipe) was leaky which would explain the lower water pressure which was still ok. They do a great job keeping the park very clean. The bath house is newer just like the entire park. Maybe the nicest bath house I have used. Shower controls are a bit odd. They are a timed push in type which is ok. The strange thing is that it’s one temp, which is warm but not hot. It’s ok but if you are wanting a hot relaxing shower this isn’t it, but it will get you clean.
Cell reception is not the best. No 5G t mobile that I could get using a 4x4 Mimo. Inside my rig I couldn’t use my Verizon cell at all. Did get a decent AT&T signal using my modem. Both T-Mobile and AT&T allowed me to stream just fine. I work on the road as well and between the two I was fine. I got about 20 up and 10 down on T-mobile and 20 up and 2 down with AT&T. Never got a Verizon signal.
Location is really good for what I like to do. The little town of Washington has everything you need. A walmart and a new Planet Fitness which I absolutely loved and is a Mainstay for full-timers. It’s about a 15-20 minute ride into town.
Fair amount of wildlife as well, numerous bunnies and Deer. Also saw a black bear on the way into town which is always cool. Being in the South you can expect bugs and lots of them. Tons of mosquitoes and ants so be prepared to fight that battle daily.
For the value I would definitely recommend this park.

I was here Presidents Day 2023 week for a 4 night stay to get away from the chilly temps of northern VA. My last full day actually had me running my air conditioner! One thing about the sites is they are all out in the open which means I reckon you will bake in the summer and that there's not a lot of privacy but for the generous spacing between sites. The site have full hookups - nice! I found it a little strange the the mens room had only one commode and it was a handicap one. While also having 3 showers with one being a handicap accessible one. There are 30 sites and having full hookups I guess they figured folks would use the bathrooms in the RVs for going potty but might want to shower in the bathhouse...? Another little oddity was that you get no brochures or pamphlets of any kind. At every other state park I've camped at I got information literature and often trail maps. Check-in was just stopping at site 1 and asking the host if the site was ready. All sites are nice with some nicer in terms of privacy. My site (4) was not the best given there are roads nearby but luckily very little traffic. I loved the trails one can hike right from the campground. I was easily able to rack up steps while I walked through some very pretty NC pine forests. It was fairly quiet and the skies at night revealed tons of stars. Verizon was a bit slow but my AT&T hotspot was pretty good.

My only complaint is that we discovered that in this very flat location, one site, #4, is not level. We have a short rig, so finally managed to level. However, anyone with a long rig should definitely choose another site if you can.
