Hey, It’s fairly easy. January and February are fairly busy months. During the busy season when the office is open I call the main office and ask if they have any availability in the H loop before I go. Hope this helps! Happy Trails Jeremy

HI! We were there the firsts week of January, and didn't arrive until after sunset, and did not have a problem.

It’s certainly easier with a Monday to Thursday arrival. But it’s a crap shoot anytime.

We arrived on Monday morning 2-14-22 at 8:30. We checked in with the woman outside of the registration office and we’re put on a list. They give other campers until 11am to decide to stay another night or check out. We were third on the RV waitlist and got the last spot. So being there early helps get you on the top of the list. I believe the office opens at 8.

We arrived about 6pm on a Friday night in November of 2020. There were not a lot of spaces left, so we didn't get much of a selection, but it did not fill up.

You need to get there about 10:00 and wait at the office. I had no problem in mid-January when I was last there.

We were there in early September and it was very easy. We don't know about different seasons, but you might try calling the park service or checking their website, (which says peak season is Jan-March). https://webcms.pima.gov/cms/one.aspx?portalId=169

We were there in January and every day there were spots opening up. The office staff said it was just about to begin their busy season. If you can't get in there are good BLM options nearby.

We were there in late October 2021 and there were many open sites to chose from. I believe part of the campground was closed too. I'm sure at the peak season it is different. October is a shoulder season in AZ.
