Only stayed one night on way south. Bad weather from remnants of Hurricane Ian was still around so it was rainy and windy. Very large site but there were only a couple other campers in the entire campground so it felt a bit too isolated. As an out of state camper, $36 is steep for dry camping

We paid $36 a night (nonresident) and had planned on staying 10 nights but only stayed for one and left in the AM.
The first site we got was right next to the dumpsters and portapotties which were both full. We changed sites because the previous campers had dumped their whole dinner leftovers out onto the site. When we switched the camp host said “…and people wonder why we have mice.” And I truly wish I would have thought about that sentence more.
We switched campsites, night came, and honestly I have never seen so many mice in my life, and so unphased by humans. They were EVERYWHERE. They got into our car and ripped at our food and insulation. They were on our stove. They were on our trailer. At one point I looked down and there were just like, 7 mice hanging out on all our stuff. The final straw came when I looked away from my sealed iced coffee cup for a split second and when I looked back there was a mouse trapped in it. I had to help it out of the cup, and then it just sat next to me like Stuart Little.
I am writing this from an AirBNB now, and there is still a mouse in our car. The worst part is we have to go through the state to see if we can get a refund and had to submit pictures as evidence.
Just keep driving!

We stayed there because of the nice reviews. The extremely unfriendly receptionist got us off on the wrong foot! The site was primitive, and not level. Bugs galore! The bathroom/bathhouse was clean. Way too pricey for what you get!

Has a spigot to fill fresh water when arriving and a dumpsite for when leaving. We stayed the first week open for the season (second weekend in April) and had very good luck with pleasant April weather. Great view off the pond and lots of trails, both for beginners and more advanced hikers. Also has a shower house, though it has a feature I haven't seen before: plug in a quarter for each minute of water in the shower. OK, as a state park, I guess I can forgive that.

Our site 14 was secluded but a little hard to back into because of some narrow stumps.
Can’t wait to go back!

Unfortunately I found out about the change upon arrival and didn't want to find a new place last minute. If you are a state resident and ok with nothing on site (no water, electric, etc.) then this is a pretty place with nice hiking trails and a small lake to enjoy. Appeared very clean.

Super-clean bathroom with coin showers. I was the only one here on a Tuesday night. Felt safe (solo female). Lovely lake and trails. Everything was immaculate; no trash to be seen anywhere.

We stayed in Aug 2016 and in addition to the $20/ per night fee we paid $9 to Reserve America for the reservation.
We liked the large wooded sites at the campground. Our site, #15 was very large and private. Our trailer is only 18 ft so we could back in and then angle the trailer behind a boulder for more privacy. There is drinking water available a couple places in the campground. Port-a-potties are located in the campground. A bathhouse is currently under construction. Camp sites include a picnic table and fire ring for the dry camping.
The campground is located on a lake. There is a sandy beach and roped off area for swimming. Signs say swimming is only allowed when a lifeguard is on duty which is late morning into the afternoon. There is also a boat launch. I don't think any camp sites have a clear view of the lake, but some are close.
Our only problem were some other campers (who were camping together.) Around 10 pm they began yelling at each for a few minuets off and on. This went on for 20 min and escalated to every other word being profanity. I Goggled and then called the local police after hearing "I'm going to kill you" and "Let's end this right now." The police, stationed 5 miles away, were there in 3 minuets. We didn't hear anything else after that. That was unnerving and I would like to think this was a nearly isolated incident. I've only called the police one other time and never when camping. (The campground didn't appear to have a host or staff at night.)
I liked this campground very much and in spite of the two guys threatening each other I'd give it another try.
