Nice spacious parking lot with tons of room. Police presence frequently so we felt safe despite the disturbing sound of gunfire in the morning.
The lot is not next to the French Quarter so you’ll walk about a mile to get there.
Essentially this is a great place to stay—except, there is no posted pricing, only a warning to pay for every space you use. When I entered our plate number it charged me $20 and change per space, so with a long fifth wheel and truck separately, it was just over $60 for the night—and it’s dry camping. It was so hot n humid we ran the generator all night for a/c; the place is pretty deserted so it didn’t disturb anyone, but I’d it had been busy then we’d have been SooL with that.
We also stayed at the Lake Pontchartrain RV park which is about ten minutes away and with full hook ups, for almost the same price... so no, in future we’ll stay there.

We stayed in our sprinter on a Saturday night and had no issues. Short walk to the French Quarter. If you are self contained, this is a fantastic, affordable place. Police station across the street. Revelers returning to cars were noisy but didn't keep us from sleeping. Would not hesitate to stay again.

When I came back there were a total of 3 RVs in the parking lot, and then a fair number of cars. I'm lying here at dusk with the pop-up out and my lights on and a chair out. :-)
Will report back...
Edit: no one bothered me, it worked out great. Note that I saw a class A bus pulling a large flat tow in the lot. They took up more than two spaces but they were parked along the back fence and nobody seemed to bother them.

It is a very short walk to all the main sights in the French Quarter, but far enough away, so that getting an RV to and from this lot is easy. You could not drive an RV through French quarter streets due to the crowds, etc. The lot was also very empty, pretty much as is shown on Google earth. That makes it easy to get the RV in & out of spaces. There is an overnight rate, but we camped at Bayou Segnette State Park, about a 25' drive from the French Quarter, in a nice quiet, safe forested area. This parking lot is also right across the street from the New Orleans police station, so it might be safer as a result.

Safe but a little loud with Construction next door. Spooky Cemetery across the street, wife loved that. Walk and enjoyed the Quarter day and night.

During events, they don't have their normal rates. The kiosks only had a $20 flat rate option until noon the next day (but their app showed $50/day). But, the requirement of paying for each space your vehicle took up. With our van, that was easy - $20.
But it's not clear on other days on if vans are considered RVs and subject to the $50/24 hr rate or $20/24hr vehicle rate. We're kinda glad we were there for the event rate where there was only one option.
We felt perfectly safe here and slept well. The visitors center and police station right across the street. In the morning the winds brought the sounds of the calliope from the steamboats to us - magical. Lots of places for RV parking in the lot, we even had a little 'yard' next to our spot. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

It's in the middle of a city, so you'll hear city noises. We camped just before Halloween on a Sunday night and the lot was pretty empty. Police patrolled several times.
No hookups of course.
Cemetery is right across the street and a police substation is nearby.

Cop was patrolling parking lot for first 3 hours we were there so we felt safe and police station was right around block. Also, RV park right behind public parking so some foot traffic of older couples or families ( also good ) it took us 6 minutes to walk to bourbon street, some noise while we slept but we slept through it! Cameras and lights in parking lot, no one bothered us, and dogs had plenty of space to walk around. Can’t ask for anything better that close to bourbon street! Mainly cars parked, 2 Sprinter vans, 1 homeless man on other side of parking lot. We initially were weary of this lot due to 1 bad review but this was totally worth it!

Parking is still a parking lot, of course, it's noisy. But as it is very well located, it's worth it. From I-10, easy access. We were worried about availability as we arrived on a Friday, but there is enough space. We opened our retractable extensions with no problem. We feel safe, the police station is just across the street.

We debated for 2 days whether we should try this spot. We wanted to be in and out of NOLA quickly and we did not want to pay much. Arrived at the parking lot in the early afternoon and scoped out the area. A lot of people were walking through it which made us uncomfortable but there is a police station and a visitor center nearby so we secured our belongings and walked into the French Quarter for the evening. Returned and all was well so we decided to stay over. There was of course city noise, drunk noise and we may not have slept great but we survived, no worse for wear. Spent a few more hours in the French Quarter and then moved on. There were 2 other vehicles, camper vans and multiple cars that appeared to stay the night also. Make sure you pay the correct amount for the duration you plan on staying. We watched a car get towed out of the visitors center, no parking after 5:00 pm and another car in our parking lot had "the boot" put on it's wheels. I feel this was worth the adventure of staying in a parking lot in the French Quarter!
