Decided to stop here for the night after a full travel day. Called late afternoon, Gary gave me a couple of options, and would be there shortly after setup to check me in. Easy, convenient stay to ready myself for a short travel to Bryce Canyon. Seems like a good area to explore further at another time.

But the weather turned cold, below freezing at night, and we weren't sure our solar/battery system could keep up for five cloudy days and nights. Our site at Fruita was in a no-generator area.
So we scrambled. We couldn't get into a campground closer to Capital Reef. Fremont River offered what we needed, 50 A for the cold spell. It also is near a hardware store with propane.
Gravel, but a small grass dog park. That was nice. We hadn't seen much grass in Utah.

The facilities are top-notch! The owners are local business owners and treat folks like they want to be treated.
Wi-fi is the best service we have had on our trip of 3 weeks.
Lucky for me, I was in this park. Had a real problem with our tow vehicle. Needed a new starter. Called the manager and told her about my problem. She knew the owner of the local auto parts store. He left a funeral and went to the store on a Saturday afternoon, opened up and got me the right part. Then he schooled me on the removal and replacement of the new starter!
You're right, anytime I get close to Loa, I'm stopping here!

We needed electric hookup so we called this RV park and reserved one of the two last spaces. The site is all gravel and level. No trees but picnic tables are on each site. The shower and restrooms were immaculate. There is a grassy gated dog run. The manager is off site but responds quickly when called.

Located close to the National parks. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived very tired after a long day of driving from Cortez, CO and then stopping for a while at Goblin Valley State Park (which you should NOT miss if you are in the area). Gary helped us back into the site and then provided excellent recommendations as to dining opportunities in the area, favorite Capitol Reef National Park attractions/hikes, and then directions to our next stop in St. George, UT.
Freemont River RV is a clean and modern all-gravel park at the east end of Loa, UT about 27 miles from the Visitors Center. We stayed here over Labor Day weekend 2021. I had made these reservations 5 months previously and it was the last full-service spot anywhere near the National Park that still had available space for our 44’ Class A.
Free, High-speed internet. We would definitely stay here again.

We picked this park because everything nearer to Capitol Reef NP seemed to be fully booked. DW did all the arrangements on the phone several days in advance of our arrival. We wanted 5 nights, but no spots available for that length. Owner worked with DW to get us into a "tent" spot (i.e. no sewer connection) #21 for the first night, then move to #17 FHU site on day 2. Office was closed when we arrived about 4:00 so DW called and confirmed our site locations and handled payment. About 5:30 Owner knocked on our door, gave us access codes, wifi logins, and a great Wayne County area map, advising us to call him if we had any questions about travel in the area. Spent 2 days at CRNP, about a half-hour drive, and then a very rewarding day trip into the Fish Lake National Forest. Took advantage of the 2 washers and dryers to knock out a couple of loads. Wifi was reliable enough to read the morning papers without interuption. Fremont River met our needs completely.

Helpful, accommodating, friendly check in after a phone call. Laundry, shower and toilet facilities are exceptionally fresh and clean. A bit pricey as the dump fee was addition $5 on top of $37 for a 22 foot mounted camper. Overall, good option with Capitol Reef camps all so full already in springtime.
