Question about Fort Stevens State Park

Any loops in the park that are better for Verizon coverage? We need to hotspot to work from there all next week, and I'm getting nervous after reading cell coverage reviews! Thanks!

All of the loops sit in the same topographical "hole". To get to the park you drive along NW Ridge Rd. You turn into the park on Peter Iredale Rd and basically go downhill until you reach the dump station, just ahead of the ranger station. All of the camping loops are in this wooded depression that sits between Ridge Rd and another ridge that you cross before you get to the beach. So vegetation combined with the significant depression that the camping loops sit in really blocks signal from most cellular providers. When we were camping we shared a site with a friend who was tenting and he had Verizon. He could make calls and get SMS texts, but he had no Internet. We have AT

Don't know about any other loop except (F) where we camped. But we found the signal was very poor on the inside of our trailer but once outside it went to 2 bars.... still not real good coverage but it worked on our phones as well as our iPad. Hope this helps.

We were in Loop “O” and I don’t think we had trouble with reception (Verizon). It might not have been over 2 bars, but we were able to get email and texts and get on-line during our stay.

Coverage is spotty throughout the campground, but parts of H, I, and J loops closest to the park road offer the best chance of a signal.

Can't speak to Verizon, but with T-Mobile/Sprint I did not get any improvement in signal cruising around the park, going down to the beach, or into the town of Hammond. Signal did not improve until rolling into westside of Warrenton.

I recently camped in Loop E, site 145, which backs up to the main campground road. Having my back face the campground road wasn't ideal.... BUT.... my internet signal (Verizon

I can’t tell you for sure, but the time we were there it was pretty spotty. Maybe a cell phone booster would help? I ended up purchasing a “jet pack” from Verizon and using my plan to compensate. This worked good but is a spendy option. I used it sparingly as to not exhaust my data. It is one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever been to btw.. Good luck

I don't think so.... we have Verizon and have terrible coverage there. When we are out at the beach it is better, but in the campground - nothing!
