Question about Fort Pickens Campground

Duner733 asked on 12/30/2022

I see they have a dump station. Is there any mobile service that will come in and service the tanks for a fee? We won't make a full week. I don't want to buy a tow tank just for this trip. And of course, don't really want to hookup just to dump tanks.

I don’t know for sure, but doubt there is a mobile service. Fort Pickens is quite a distance from Pensacola. There is very little commercial service out there. At one they privately operated grocery store, but it closed after Hurricane Michael. The dump station is not to far. I would at a small tote. Hope this help. PS this really a beautiful park. It has seen severe weather over the past 7 or 8 years, but very well worth a visit.

Not that I know of. I didn’t know that was a thing😀 We drove a small class C with no other transportation, so it was not a problem for us to dump when we were out for a day trip.

I don't recall there being a service, but this is one of the few NPS campgrounds that offers full bathhouses with hot showers, so you may be able to stretch your tanks by using the bathhouse and limiting water usage in the rig (paper plates, etc.).

No, but they also have new size restrictions that make it about impossible for anything other than a very short camper to get in. My 29’ camper is now too long with my tow vehicle for allowance

You may want to call the park to be sure but it's unlikely since any commercial service would have to have a concessioner contract with the NPS and there likely isn't a demand for it.
