Question about Fort Pickens Campground

Zoocosmo asked on 12/26/2021

Are they allowing 41' 5th wheels to be dropped at camp sites? We stayed there last year with our 41' and the same site this year now shows 35'. I guess they don't want trucks and campers to be over a certain length.

Hello! Does anyone have an update on the length of 5th wheels being allowed? I see they trimmed the trees in loop C, but A is 12' max.

As you know the sites are really tight and the staff require that all vehicles must be parked on the paved areas or in the extended gravel parking areas (no parking on the grass). I suspect this is why they have lowered the max to 35'. The best thing to do is to call the park office and speak to a ranger. I believe you can reach them on 850-934-2622. I would recommend you call before confirming a reservation. Or call once once you confirm and verify they will allow your rig on the site.

New rule is no RVs over 12 feet in height. We have stayed here many years and are not allowed anymore since we have a 5th wheel with height of 12'8".

I believe they are not due to tree branches hanging down and potential damage to large RVs. You need to check their website or Facebook page for further information.
