Stopped without reservations and there were several open sites. Stayed in site 36. No utilities. Bathrooms were older but clean.

We got lucky securing this site due to rain/floods cancellations for Withal Brook. No hookups, but there are water spigots around and a dump station. Tall trees kept the solar nectar for themselves so we ran our genset during the allowed 8-10am and 5-7pm hours. Biting bugs around, so bring a bug tent. Verizon hot spot worked for streaming and video calls/ AT&T was hit or miss. Easy hiking trails around the CG.

Situated close to the charming town of Brattleboro. Receptionist Lisa was very friendly and helpful. Mid week, late August, half empty. Sites spacious and level, with picnic table and fire pit. There are some short pleasant trails straight from the camp site. Restrooms clean. Shower coin operated. Water taps around site and portable water connection at the dump station where the trash dumpsters are also located and that area was very clean and tidy. Check in time 2pm. I booked ahead online for peace of mind.

Fort Dummer State Park was a bit of a disappointment due to the heavy rains of late. The park was pretty, but basically unusable. The mosquitoes were quite bad so sitting outside under the awning enjoying nature was not possible. But our sleep was good as the temperatures were in the mid sixties overnight and perfect for sleep. AT&T was three bars and a pleasant surprise. The facilities appeared OK but we did not use the dump station or restroom as we were just stopping off for one night on our way to Shelburne and the famous folk art and artifacts museum.
We did make a run into nearby Brattlesboro which on first look was an old and charming historic town. But the buildings were rundown and in disrepair, the commercial tourist trap unfriendly, and way too many homeless drug-addled beggars on the sidewalks and alcoves. I was both surprised and disappointed again. The choices for suitable food establishments on a Tuesday were nonexistent and the favorable-reviewed restaurants are only open from Thursday to Sunday. The potential upside of Brattlesboro was probably quite high at one time but it is likely the drug culture and diseased environment today sadly makes it a lost cause going forward.

This is a nice campground in the forest with easy access from I-91 and the town of Brattleboro. Bathrooms are basic, but clean and functional. Overall a nice, quiet campground.

We stayed here Friday-Sunday at the end of July and loved it! We were able to make a last-minute reservation online and were pleasantly surprised by both the size and the privacy of our campsite. The tall trees surrounding each site are beautiful and make you feel a bit more secluded. There are 3 short hiking trails in the park, 1 of which leads to a swimming hole, and a bathroom building for each loop. The bathrooms were clean and just a short walk from each site. At night, you can hear a little noise from the highway nearby but not much. The campground is 5 minutes from downtown Brattleboro, which is full of awesome shops to check out, too!

This was a very quiet, almost completely empty campground. Bathrooms were meticulously clean, showers were paid but reasonable.
Definitely need bug spray in the evening.

Just an FYI. This state park has a season. Only open Memorial Day to Labor Day. Very disappointing for those traveling in the off season. But seems to be that way here for most of the S.P.'s
