AT A GLANCE:

Access: 4x4/ATV possibly a van. its a jeep trail
Ideal for: tent camping, possibly small vehicles pull offs

DETAILS:

I was really hoping to camp up here but there was no way my 31' motorhome was getting up that jeep-trail. I did take my motorcycle up past it and there are a few great spots all up and down this area, some you could wedge a van into, others you can only get tents down to.

Long story short, if you have a 4x4 or very capable smaller rig, maybe a van, then take a chance and check this area out. Pro tip, the road is good up to the Coyote Trail head and there is pull-through RV parking there*. It's a perfect place to park and then you can check out the map they have there and take a walk/hike/ride further up the 462 fire road to what the area is like and make the call if your rig can get up there.

*No over nighting at the Coyote trail head parking lot

“Forest ranger says it's day use only. ”

noted 4/3/2023

Arrived during the day was getting set up in the trailhead parking lot and forest ranger says it's day use only. It's national forest but for locals with dirt bikes to destroy it.
