This camping area is temporarily closed for a controlled burn. Unsure of when it will reopen so contact the National Forest Office before heading here. FR 9350 just down the road is currently open.

This campground was great, the campsite was big, with a fire ring, and the campsites were very far apart. The campsite we stayed at didn't have a ton of trees at the campsite, but we were able to find a few near by to hang the hammock. The upside of the few trees was getting solar power was easy.
I had 4G data with Verizon every once in a while but I wouldn't count on it.
I went in early November so there weren't a lot of people there, however I assume doing the warming months this place is popular.
I would 100% recommend this campground again.

This is an easy-to-get-to camping area. The road is graded gravel, no steep inclines. C61 is right at the end of FR195 and as such is pretty quiet.. There's a camp host who is very helpful. The host and ranger check on the sites multiple times during the day. The sites are large, maximum of 20 people in a group. C61 is right above a meadow and you can hike directly from the campsite to Woods Canyon Lake (1 mile) or just about any direction. There is one tent pad that has soft dirt that will accommodate a large tent. Another pad with soft dirt will accommodate a slightly smaller tent (100 sq ft.) Lots of pines but open areas if you want to use solar panels.
Cell coverage was sporadic, 1 to 2 bars ranging to no service. Just walk up a small ridge about 100 feet away and you can usually get 2 bars. Go to the rim and get better coverage.
