Typical restrooms and has showers. Old but fairly clean. About 30 digital TV stations. T Mobile and AT&T both have decent signals, but data on both networks are a little slow for today's standards. Beach is closed and you have to open gate manually all hours. Good price for what you get. We stayed passing through. Looked like mostly fisherman or water activities close by.

We chose this spot specifically for the beach/river access, figured after four years it would be open again. Much to our astonishment it is not. We chose site 26 because it was right by bathrooms which we needed, those bathrooms have been closed for a LONG time. The campsite was quiet and maintained, not much privacy between sites but nice. We ended up just using it for sleeping at night and had to leave for entirety of the days since it doesn’t offer anything else besides the beach. The bathrooms and showers were decently clean and over all it was a decent experience but having the beach and restroom closure information would’ve prepared us more to make alternate plans.

My only gripe here is having to open and close the gate every time we go in or out. Other than that, this is a favorite campground of ours.

Nice clean, quiet campground with paved roads and gravel campsites. Most sites looked pretty level, we didn't need leveling blocks in site 18. Some electric sites and the rest have no hookups. The sites on the outside of the loop have direct access to the paved trail that goes around the campground. There is a nice day us area where the beach is but the beach is still closed from the last hurricane. You can also bike on the trails and there are other trails nearby but we didn't have time to hike them. $20 for no hookups seems a little high but it is a well maintained campground with showers and flush toilets, which looked older but clean, again we didn't use the showers. There are two bath houses but one was closed. If the second bath house and the beach were open I would have given this campground five stars. Verizon signal was a little slow but usable...9.31mbps download, 1.16 mbps upload.

No water at individual sites but you can hook up to a spigot and fill. There’s also a dump station there. On arrival you text the camp host for check in, was easy. There’s a gate that’s not locked that you open& close on your way in and out.
pros: trail access from most campsites. Pleasant and paved trail through the woods. Some sites are near the river and although the beach is closed you can get some river views along the trails. I believe most of those sites do not have electric hook ups though.
Enough cell service for me to get a little work done and basic email/browsing.
Cons: bathrooms a bit dated. But clean. Biggest con for me was that shower needs you to hold down a button to get water to come out. Not a huge deal and probably fine in summer. It was 30s-40s when we went in March so a little chilly without constant hot water in the shower. Water could have also been a bit hotter, but again, it’s camping, what can you expect.
Overall we will definitely be back to camp here again!!!

Level gravel sites, decently space with about 60% having a stand of trees between them for decent privacy. About 30% of lots have electric, none have water but there are two central spigots for filling RV fresh water or container. LOTS of hiking trails. Suitable bathhouse. Only about a dozen campers in mid-January. Good size city of New Bern is 10miles north. I would recommend and stay here again - $17/night with National Pass. Cell reception was not great but passable for streaming.

Electric-only site. No amenities except for nice trails, but if you want a shady, quiet stay with New Bern, Cherry Point, Morehead, and Beaufort only a short drive away, this is perfect. This was our second visit, and I really enjoy staying here.
Previous reviewers who said they blocked traffic to check in didn't realize that it's not necessary. You can go ahead to your site, then just call the host to let him know you're there.
